  1. 1. Wet and hot. 2. I have had a tetanus shot, nothing else, and have been everywhere in Thailand over the last 16 years with nothing worse that the shits. 3. boat trip up the Chao Praya river to Ayutthaya is a nice day trip. The bigger question is why spend 14 days in Pattaya? Go south to better beaches- Hua hin, Phuket, Ko Samui- and head up to Chaing Mai for a couple days. 4. No idea. Tric
  2. My first time to Thailand (1989) the rage was “I Love Rock and Roll” by Joan Jett. TG’s dancing on bars will for ever be associated with that tune. Tric
  3. I was there over New Years. It is a nice hotel. The rooms were adequate and they have a nice view over the river. However, the New Year’s Gala was painful. Bad food and terrible entertainment. While you are there, I recommend hiking the Erawan Falls. Seven waterfalls, each one more spectacular than the last. Tric
  4. I stayed there in January with my family. It is a long way from anywhere, however it was near a hospital we were visiting. The rooms were nice and my recollection is we paid 800B. We had to taxi everywhere. The pool was small and lame. There is a nice, upscale restaurant/club on the water within walking distance. It looked like a place for young, hip Thais. Tric
  5. I will try it out this next trip (late August) and post a review.
  6. Sorry, I missed that. Heading to Pattaya in a month or so, and my focus is on that.
  7. I am thinking about staying at the Grand Hotel next time I am in Pattaya, but don’t see it reviewed on the board. http://www.hotelthailand.com/pattaya/grand/ Any input?
  8. Is this the same place as the Grand Hotel? http://www.hotelthailand.com/pattaya/grand/ I am thinking about staying there next time I am in Pattaya, but don’t see it reviewed on the board.
  9. Which side of Suk? Could it be City Lodge?
  10. I can’t help you with the email address, however if you are not set on the Grand Jomtien, may I suggest the Jomtien Thani? I have stayed at both and prefer the Jomtien Thani. The quality of the rooms seem about the same, the Jomtien Thani is cheaper, and last time I stayed at the Grand Jomtien, there was a loud disco next door that literally shook my windows until 2 am.
