  1. Gus asks what Thai are doing about refueling. I posted earlier that my wife's flight (9:35pm out of LHR) stopped in Copenhagen to refuel. It added about 2 hours to the flight. They were on the ground in Copenhagen for nearly 2 hours and did not leave the plane. It arrived just over 2 hours late in Bangkok. See the other post for the impact on my wife's connecting flight. I am not sure if it applies to all Thai flights from Heathrow. Maybe the ealier flight can get enough fuel. Maybe both daily flights need to refuel. Someone commented on Emirates and the other middle east airlines that
  2. Just a few things on Thai Airways LHR to BKK. 1. Last Friday's fight (9:35PM) had an unscheduled stop in Copenhagen for refueling. This is because of the fuel depot fire near London which meant airlines are short of fuel. Hence the stop to refuel. This meant that the plane was delayed 2 hours 20 minutes into Bangkok. My wife and son only just caught their flight to Udon Thani (the last that day) because Thai helped them through Bangkok airport and held the plane till they caught it. So beware if you have onward flights from Bangkok. There were several on teh flight. If you have
  3. On the Baht buses outside Dusit. As recmmended just wave down one of the passing ones. Do not use the ones parkud up opposit the Hotel. Those will want to over charge you. I usually atrt walking towards the sea and wait for th next paasing Baht bus.
  4. Sorry for the late reply. I have stayed in the Dusit many times. You should be aware that they are doing up the rooms and also working on one of the pools this year. They have more then one pool so it may not impact you. Food is average. Chines on teh top floor is good but expensive. Italian by the pool I find not very exciting, same menu year after year. The best part is the Saturday night buffet. I is not cheap but if you can eat you will certainly get your monies worth. I tend to eat out except for Saturdays. the coffe shop is ok for a quick meal, does European and Thai food and some
  5. I have found the name of the seafood restaurant. It is called Nang Nual. You can see the bars and rstaurants in walking street at www.pattayacity.com/pattaya/walking_street.html It is on the same side as FLB but further along Walking street. They have great crab (which my Thai wife loves) and tiger prawns and lobster. We both think it is much better than King Seafood which is nearby.
  6. Bill, Some of the hotels have deals which start in May (start of the low season) buy one night get one free. Alos on royal birthdays nearly all the bars close (well do not sell alcohol). If you go for a short time avoid these holidays.
  7. Forget the name. But I think the best one is the last one on walking street. It is on both sides of the road, with seafood on the right next to the sea (it would be!) and steaks etc. on the left. They have lots of seafood in tanks to choose from. We find this one better than the others along walking street.
  8. I am having the same problems you are. I posted in the members section where someone on Windows XP was having problems. I am on Windows 98 with IE 5 (with SP1). I also have tried all the cookie and security settings without luck. I have resorted to using Netscape to get round the problem.
