They claim the Active versions are better for resolution, and say that the Passive version of 3D cuts the resolution in half. I do know that 3D is no good unless you have a resolution of at least 720. In 480 the 3D doesn't do anything. 3D is best off a 1080p Blu-Ray.

I've had a 3D TV for almost a year now. I originally got it because I thought I'd watch 3D TV Blu-Rays on it. but they are limited. In the meantime, I can see any HD broadcast in 3D. I have recently gotten into putting on my 3D glasses when watching a regular program, and it's funny how you miss the 3D when watching it elsewhere.
