  1. Well, im back in the UK now After a month stay at Diamond City Place, my initial impressions were correct. The place is immaculate, professional and secure. A couple of nights i had one of my regular BG's come to meet me in my room and each time she was escorted to my door by security to check everything was ok. Every other guest i met there was impressed with the place and service despite the negatives like the small swimming pool. I didn't find the bahtbus routes a problem at all. If i stood outside the apartments for 5 minutes one would come along soon and you could either get off at 2nd road and walk down to walking street or stay on it and continue all the way up 2nd road. The return journey from 2nd road/soi 7 & 8 takes you up Soi Buakaow and you get off just opposite Diamond City Place. Throughout my stay i felt really relaxed and at home here. No-one trying to make extra baht at all. Just good service and respect for your privacy. One small thing that i should mention though. I was asked to move rooms because they apparently had a water leakage problem in two of the rooms near mine and didn't want it too affect my room. This was rectified within a day and my new room was identical just one floor up. As i was about to board the plane home i realised i had left my wallet in the room in one of the drawers. No problem. I got back to the uk to be greeted by an email saying they had found it and did i want it posting back to me :) This is definately going to be a regular place for me to stay as it checks all the box's for what i want from accomadation on holiday. 9.9/10 *edit* I got my deposit back in full. No drama at all
  2. Update on extra charges Water for the month is 350bt The average bill for electricity is 2000bt/month
  3. Quick update on what Feileacan said about the beds. As i found out this morning, if you are energetic in the sack the beds do indeed move about, but rolling about the room is a bit over the top and shouldn't put you off. Its a very small detail which is not a problem. I cannot recommend this place enough.
  4. Not sure about the bed rolling around now. The one in my room would probably take a bulldozer to move it. The bahtbuses do go by quite fast but some do beep at you and of course there is always the mototaxis. The internet cost me 1500bt for unlimited 31 day access. Browsing speed is fine but forum threads heavy on photos take an age to load. Thumbnails like my review thread are loaded instantly. It has movie channels but they are the ones you see in every hotel/guesthouse. No live sport but there is one that has delayed footie on it.
  5. Website Im staying here now. Arrived Friday to be greeted by my first name as i walked in the entrance. Always a good start. Check in swift and easy. I have had to pay 1 month rent in advance + 1 month security deposit (like a tenancy agreement) Im staying in the largest apartment (city suite) and paying 21,600 + water + electricity (equivalent to 720bt a night) The apartment is pretty much what it looks on the website except the bedroom is much larger - same size as a standard hotel room. The apartment is surprisingly cool, so i will hardly be using the aircon at all. In room wifi which you have to pay for (cyberpoint) unfortunately its a bit slow but very useable. Im typing this review in my room now. 2 balconies but no furniture. 2 tv's with standard channels. Aircon x2. Exceptional storage space. Basicly equiped kitchen. Everything still looks brand new and they keep the whole place immaculate. It feels very very secure as you can only access the building through reception who buzz you through a card entry door. There is a quick lift. Water pressure is excellent. They take BG's id's no exceptions. No joiner fee, though it states on the booking form no more than 2 people in your room. The staff are well trained, discreet and friendly with good English. Some slight niggles though. There are no coat hangers in the wardrobes and the 2nd floor swimming pool is tiny - more like a paddling pool but fine for a sobering up dip and some sunbathing. No hifi or dvd No in room safe. Its very difficult to find the 1st time and none of the motorbike taxis know where it is but they do have business cards in reception with directions. I would wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone for a long stay of a month or more and im surprised it isn't more well known across the forums. And of course the location is excellent. Baht bus routes everywhere.
