Dr. Mick I made the trip to Khon Kean with my TGF back in Dec 2006. She said we could stay at the Sofitel. Went to check in at the Sofitel and the only room they had available was 3300bht (convention was in town) . Had a load of luggage and decided to check in and told the TGF we go look for another hotel and change tomorrow. Sofitel was very nice but, not worth the money IMO. Found the Kosa Hotel just down the road for 1000bht w/American Breakfast(ABF) and decided to reserve a room. gator, The U.S. has 110-120V 60Hz power. Thailand has 220-240V 50Hz power. Most newer electornic equipment made for the U.S. is auto-switching and will work in Thailand. Look for the following info on the supplied (2 prong) plug-in or charger adaptor label: INPUT: AC 100-240V, 50-60Hz. If the label has INPUT: AC 110-120 60Hz, I would suggest leaving it at home or purchasing a converter as themook stated above. Stiffler, I stayed at the Eastiny Place back in Sep 02. It was fairly new and a decent place to stay. I stayed in the A-wing on the 4th floor...don't remember the room number but it was at the end of the open air hallway and on the opposite side of the pool. Even though the pool was on the 3rd flr, you had to go up to the 4th flr and walk down the steps to the pool area. There was a mini bar area on one end of the pool with some very friendly girls.
