I'd add my vote to the LK Metropole. My Tilak and I stayed there for two weeks in mid-September and it was a nice hotel. Better than average workout room. Internet service was a bit spotty - they kept needing to reboot their server as it would stop giving out wireless IP addresses periodically. Pool and Restaurant were first rate. We stayed in both the superior and the one bedroom suite, and while smaller, the superior has a better kitchen layout if that is important to you.

If it was ANY four digit code, you would be correct. But since the thread was talking about dusting the keypad and seeing which numbers were used in making the code, you are wrong. And Ssornek is right. Example: Say that the bargirl dusts the keypad and sees that the numbers 2, 3, 7, and 9 were the ones used to make the code. Now, this isn't any ordinary bargirl. This is a bargirl who is as smarter than Nemesea, possibly even as smart as Ssornek. She knows the first digit of the unknown code is one of only 4 options (a 2, 3, 7, or 9). Then the second digit has to be one of the three other numbers that weren't used yet, and so on, until for the 4th digit the only option is the one number that hasn't been used. So, the total number of possible ways to order four unique digits is 4 x 3 x 2 x 1 = 24. There is a reason I make my bank/safe PIN numbers as long as the system allows (my preferred travel ATM card allows 6 digits). Oh, and for extra fun, I repeat a digit.

I can think of four options: Inherit wealth (always a popular choice) Work for more years and retire later Make a higher income during the years you do work Scrimp, save, and deny yourself luxuries now so you can retire sooner. Personally, I'm working on the first three. No way I am giving up vacations to Thailand to make #4 happen. Though with both my parents still in good health, I'll also be waiting a while on #1 as well.

Since this is something I keep an eye out for, I know of a few more options to add to the list: The Vault offers wireless in all rooms. They are on 2nd road near Walking Street. The Queen Victoria on Soi 6 also offers wireless in their rooms. The 7th floor rooms at Eastiny Residence are wired for broadband access. Eastiny Residence is on Soi 10.

If it is sometimes happening during various stages of bootup, I would bet it is not a software (spyware, virus, etc) problem and is almost certainly some type of hardware problem. Bad connections on the motherboard, or a sub-par or failing power supply would be my two most likely candidates. - anabasis

I'll echo Braveheart -- we need more details on your system (hardware), and any insights you can provide as far as certain software causing it to happen more frequently than other times, etc. Unfortunately, without a hands-on session, best I can do is make some guesses. I assume everything freezes - not just the mouse? Ie - can you do a cntrl-alt-delete and get it to reboot (I know you said you had to turn it off and back on, just verifying that is really the case). Do you have to be doing something for it to happen? Or can it freeze while the system is essentially sitting idle (say while you are getting a cup of coffee, or something). If it is a tower or mini-tower, and is either more than 12 months old or you have added a new hard drive, graphics card, extra DVD burner, etc then it may be that the power supply is on the verge of failing, and is no longer up to the task of keeping things going. Laptops tend to have less problem with bad power supplies, though still possible. Second possibility is somehow something wrong with your memory - do you have it set up to do a memory check on bootup (some systems skip the memory check). - anabasis
