Displayed prices are for multiple nights. Check the site for price per night. I see hostels starting at 200b/day and hotels from 500b/day on agoda.

If you took your mobile to Thailand, but did not want anyone calling you and finding out you were there, am I right in thinking that you take the sim card out before landing in LOS and for extra security wrapping it in silver foil. It does sound like an old wife's tale to me.

Thanks Donny that seems sound advice.

QUOTE Probably not wise to compare prices with SF and definitely don't base your calculations on the prices listed online by realtors. Donny, how would you suggest we base our calculations? Is there a rule of thumb that says realtors mark up by an extra 10% for instance? Good luck with your search.

Pete/All Sorry for my flipant answer, but I did assume there was some humour in the questions. I also assumed the poster, whose many posts have given me the impression he knows a lot about Pattaya, was writing in jest. I agree we should all help newbies, as I was helped in the past. However if this is a serious post then why has it not been moved to the newbie section?

1. Nothing. Get a live in working girl (they will all want to do this) and she will pay for everything. 2. Your live in will know and bring one home for you on demand. 3. Nothing. "Live in" will treat to long or short time women as required. 4. Nothing. Tell the driver you live with a local and they will only be too happy to give you a free ride.

I think you are refering to Soi 7. I have not seen him post on here for a while, so maybe his latest budget cut is his internet access. Think his appartment is near to Shagwell Mansions, slightly off the beaten track.

There are a lot of places to buy all manner of clothing. My choice is the Mike Shopping Mall, which has entrances off Second Road and Beach Road. Also, I would suggest you book into the RG for the first few days of your trip and once you get a feel fot Pattaya move to the area of your choice.

If you have a Mac laptop, the RG wifi does not work.

Do all of the opticians mentioned have English speaking staff? My Thai lady has had operations on her eyes and I want her to get a good eye test so I can understand the problems she is having. I got nowhere with the Bangkok/Pattaya hospital where she had the operations and hope to get an acurate assessment from an optician.

I have tried to search this but, there seems to be a problem with the facility (more likely something I am doing wrong). Anyway, I hope to stay at the RG again next month. During my last stay in June I found using the internet shop next door a bit of a drama, what with the Queen who now owns it and having to wait for his ladyboy friends to finish talking to their boyfriends in Falangland on line. Nothing against anyone but, time spent hanging around there is time taken from other activities. This trip I intend to bring along my ibook and get the email/internet stuff out of the way in t

As a foot note to this thread, everything went very smoothly with the Majestic Suites booking. Like others have reported the hotel is very good, well located and sorted me with an excellent taxi service to Pattaya. Thirteen hundred baht, tolls included and knew where the Res' Gardens was situated. I did over pay on the taxi from the airport to the Majestic Suites, but I'll keep that price to myself, don't want to louse up BigD's weekend. Thanks once again for the advice and help.

Thanks for all the advice and help. Nana Hotel never replied. However, Majestic Suites did and I booked my room through the pages of this web site. Sixteen hours and wheels up from Elmdon.

I have just booked a couple of weeks stay in LOS. I arrive on Thursday early evening and plan a night out around Nana, before moving on to Pattaya the next day. How easy is it to find a room at this time of the year (walk up)? I have e mailed the Nana hotel but as yet no reply.

Thanks Win'/Emil. Looks like the 10 am ferry will be the one. My Thai friend would not realise 7.00 am existed, in fact she probably knows nothing about 10 am either.

I fancy spending a day on Koh Larn. What time does the first ferry leave in the morning?
