G'day all, Will be goin to Bangkok and Pattaya in a couple of weeks, just wandering how safe it is to travel around and at nite. Especially on the skytrain? Will be 2 of us travelling.

G'day all, Going to Pattaya for first time in November, looking forward to it. Got a few questions for ya's. 1. Getting to Patts from new Bangkok airport. Leaning towards Mr Toom as a few in here suggest, but isnt it just as easy to negotiate a fare with a TAXI METER taxi when i get there which could end up cheaper than Toom, and less hassle for organising. 2. I wanna travel to some of the islands near Pattaya. Like Ko Larn, or others. Where do i book a tour to these places for a day trip, and how much would i expect to pay for this? Are any of the beaches on these islands as good

Is the currency exchange at the new airport open 24hrs? I will be landing about 8pm. Cheers.

Hey all, thanks for all the replies, i still have a bit of research to do and no doubt i can find out a lot from here, much better than a lonely planet guide LOL...... Good to see Aussies on here as well. From my research i think the best accomodation option would be Sabai Inn, cheap, clean and close to action. I have heard Pattaya can be a bit in your face, but thats what i wanna see, some craziness to get away to what i am used to. My only concern is that i hope i dont get sick from the food. Anyways i'll just wait and see what happens. Cheers.
