  1. Hi, I stayed there with a running mate in a two bedroom suite in late 2006 (stayed there because the reservations dept for LK Metropole screwed up, and at a 4 AM, for the brain surgeon of a desk clerk on duty, this was the best he could do). It wasn't a bad thing though. Gym was OK, Pool was great, although later in the day the building blocks most of the sun. Very spacious rooms with full amenities. I do have to second the warning about securing your valuables...or even non-valuables. We would often see the maids sharing a beer or two, and they would constantly shout "Hello...I Love You" to us everytime we walked by. But my running mate and I each had a large variety box of condoms and stashed them in the bedside drawer of our respective rooms, and after only one night, each of us was missing all the "cool twist" variety...and I know I didn't fuck THAT many times that night. Didn't report it though...I guess we thought the idea of half-drunk maids who apparently got around a lot because they needed a lot of jimmy's was kinda funny. Another complaint I might make is not about the hotel itself, its about the location for baht bus pickups. We would hop on a baht bus at nearby Pattaya Central road, but for the life of us couldn't figure out if at the intersection of Pattaya Central and Second roads, if it was going to make a right and go to North Pattaya, or go straight to head south. We'd occasionally end up headed in a direction we weren't planning on...even when we'd ask the damn driver where he was going.... Best, Scoot
  2. You got a point there.... Sure, if you took an average sampling from bars of similar parity in LOS and PI (i.e. don't compare Peppermint in Pats to Insomnia in AC, likewise dont compare Flamingo in Burgos to TQ2 in Pats) you would probably find similarities in body compositions, however the PI has the damn cherry girl phenomenon, wheras a virgin (or downright young girl) whom has a tight body will refuse customers and just work for salary and LD's...ergo the ones who go with a lot of customers and allow photos have been around the block once or twice, hence have...shall we say...a tad more maturity to their physique. I'm sure to get flamed on this opinon by many punters whom have GF's who are the exceptions... so have at it.......... Best, Scoot
  3. Hi Guys, Thanx for the info and the link.... -Best, Scoot
  4. Were can I find an online lineup of the scheduled talent- broken down by stage and date, of the upcoming Music Festival?
  5. I stayed there and had two bedroom sweets...they were named Noi and Thip , but seriously, I did stay there once. Did not have two bedroom suites (not sure they have any). No complaints about the hotel itself, just the location for my preferences. It's in an excellent location if you perhaps want a place that is easily accessible between both Jomtien and Pattaya, but I personally prefer Pattaya. I just stayed at an awsome two bedroom suite at the LK Royal Suite. LK Metropole has them also, I was going to stay there...but that's another story.... -Best, Scoot
  6. Greetings all, just returned from a 1-week trip. The kicker about this trip for me was that it was ALL VACATION!!!. As I’ve stated before, I frequently travel to Thailand (BKK and Pattaya) for business purposes. As delightful as this all is, with the exception of a few days on the front or back end of the trip, it still is work and we still have to be up by 6:00 am and ready to function. The purpose of this post is to warn others that if you take advantage of the LK Metropole FLB rate promotion, be sure to triple confirm your reservations in both phone AND electronic confirmations. My pal and I left Japan on the evening Red-Eye and arrived at BKK airport at 1:00 AM. After customs and all, we finally arrived at LK Metropole around 3:30 AM. A word about Thai hotel staff, they certainly always have the “B-team” on the late night shift. Even the higher-end hotels we stay at on business has generated long early morning checkout times because the security guard had to go wake up the receptionist who then had to manually tally my bill whilst wiping the sleep from his eyes- this despite the fact that I had correctly submitted the ‘Express Checkout Form’ the previous day… Back to LK though… After we walked up to the desk the reception boy fumbled with his computer a while, then looked at us and said “No Hab reservation”. I pulled out the hardcopies of my reservation and confirmation and showed it to him. Now, in my experience, possession of printed hardcopy usually far outweighs absence of electronic softcopy by leaps and bounds, but this was not to be. He looked over my papers, tried the computer a few more times then shrugged his shoulders repeating “No Hab” again. I replied “Yes I do have a reservation, here it is” showing him the papers again. He punched a few keys again and said “No Hab in computer”. Now, a mistake I can understand, but the receptionists non-action was infuriating. He seemed to say “sorry pal, I can’t find it in this computer therefore you’re on your own.” And all this at almost 4:00 AM, our transport had since departed; what were we to do? Stroll around Pattaya at that hour trying to find a hotel room somewhere? I phoned a few of the hotels we stay at on business, but they were 30 percent overbooked. Did we speak to the Manager? We tried!!! We told ‘No-Hab-Boy’ to get the manager. “Cannot, Manager home sleeping”. “Well call and wake him up!!!!” We countered (this was definitely a get-the-boss-out-of-bed-and-get-it-resolved issue in my book). The good news is that he eventually did make up for it. After some prodding and asking him just what the hell were we expected to do, ‘No-Hab-Boy’ called up other hotels in the chain and found us room at the LK Royal Suite further down on Soi Bukhaow. It was a nicer room than we had reserved at Metropole and did work out a discount for us. He arranged transport for us (the bellhop used the hotels golf-cart to drive me and our bags while the security guard transported other guy on the back of his motorbike. Despite all I’ve said, this is NOT a slam at the LK group. The hotel we stayed at was more than outstanding if that says anything about the chain’s quality. I’m sure the majorities of customers go to the Metropole and experience no problems. For all I know, this chain might have a 99.9 percent successful booking rate and we were the unlucky 0.1 percent. It made for a very bad first impression, but it resolved itself greatly and we had an awesome time! Just be sure to have a no-kidding confirmation! -Best Scoot
  7. According to their website, the Deluxe Suite is a 2 bedroom suite. Their site also says for all rooms: 'room rate is for 2 persons, 300 baht charge for third person.' Does that mean that if my buddy and I get the 2-bedroom deluxe suite and we both bring girls back that we'll be charged a 6oo baht "girl charge"? Best, Scoot
  8. Hi, Sorry to hear about your troubles at Whitehouse. I stumbled onto whitehouse last February. I was already checked in somewhere else but decided I wanted a change in scenery. I walked around a bit and asked people walking into various hotels if they were staying there and what they thought of their accomodations. When I came to Whitehouse, the guy I asked turned out to be the British manager. He showed me around, the hotel was new then and in great shape. I inquired about joiner fees and the guy told me straight out that "we don't really care, the only stipulation is that if you bring 10 girls back with you then you have to call and invite me!!" No pool, but I could use the Lek's pool right across the street. What really had me sold was the double paned windows which effectively blocked ALL outside noise- including that of jackhammer construction accross the street! I liked it so much I came back in July. Alas, based on your message, chances are if they are doing a little interior construction now, they will be doing more for some time to come, and apparently the soundproof windows don't doo much for interior noises, and I'll be back in Patts in 3 weeks....how is Snady Spring for Exterior noises? ...as I have business and personal phone calls to make where I cannot have ambient outside noise wafting in.... 9. Hi folks, Two pals and I are returning...one of them is a long-time party mate of mine and when traveling together we liked to split the cost of a two bedroom suite, bring a few gals back and party in the common living area before retiring to our private rooms. This trip we are bringing a newbie to indoctrinate (i.e. corrupt) and are looking for Guest Friendly hotel with a three-bedroom suite in addition to a common living area. Prefer Pattaya South area. Central or North would be OK but NOT Jomtien. Anyone with any suggestions? Thanks in advance, -Scoot
