Displayed prices are for multiple nights. Check the site for price per night. I see hostels starting at 200b/day and hotels from 500b/day on agoda.

  1. Yes, there is nothing special about it to justify the prices on their website in which they claim its a 3000 baht room. It's your basic 900 baht room already on the way to becoming another mediocre hotel run by people who don't care. I spent a night there three months ago and felt slightly ripped of at 1200, but it was fine for what it was.....then.
  2. Your decision not to spend the money on blackout curtains is a perfectly legitimate business decision. Pretending that they are blackout curtains is odd....... I also only stay in rooms with actual blackout curtains, but I support your right to lose my business in favor of the majority who don't care about it!
  3. It was sort of a flophouse kind of place with a wheezing and ineffective air condtioner, dirty paint, crappy pictures of flowers poorly taped to the wall, a hot plate with a battered sauce pan sitting on it. The kind of room where alcoholics go to die.
  4. After a long bus trip I rented a room from the woman blink is recommending. Simply put, it was a complete shithole with no redeeming virtues. I didn't feel like wandering around looking for another place but I got out of their as early the next day as I could.
  5. I also find the demand pumps in many guest houses disturbing.
  6. I'm not complaining about this hotel, but I truly don't understand hotel owners who don't want to spend the money for black out curtains. I will never stay in a room without them and I know others who feel the same. One or two nights rent pays for them.
  7. Can anyone suggest a travel agent in Thai Town for discount tickets to LOS? Thanks.
  8. The Thai office in Bangkok tells me that they are using the same configuration as the BKK-JFK flight with economy and executive economy. The agent had some problem figuring out the pricing on the executive economy seats I would still like to know how executive economy compares to Evergreen Deluxe. Anybody know where there might be a picture? Thanks.
  9. Perhaps I am wrong, but isn't the Thai flight only a single class of executive economy (or whatever they are calling it)? The fares are about the same at $900 or so from Bangkok, which makes the non-stop attractive. However, I hate sharing an armrest and don't want to literally rub shoulders for 17 hours with someone sitting next to me who happens to have no respect for my space. The EVA flight offers business class style seats which offer individual armrests and a slight division between the seats, which generally means just enough space to protect me from the potential discomfort
  10. I am flying to LAX in December and just noticed that Thai is now booking a non-stop flight. I think, but am not positive, that they are using the same plane and seating as the Bangkok-JFK non-stop, which I have never flown. Does anyone know how the Thai economy seats on the non-stops compare to Evergreen Deluxe? I really like the width of Evergreen Deluxe seating as I know I won't be rubbing shoulders with anyone. Which flight might you recommend? Thanks!
