Hotel Rooms filling up fast!

Recommended Posts

Hi All.

Just tried to book a room at the Lek hotel for January next year and was told that all the rooms were fully booked.

I did not try any of the other hotels in Soi13 due to the construction of the new hotel next to the Dynasty Inn. I suspect that even the Lek hotel rooms will be affected since the new wing faces Soi13.

Maybe I will have to try hotels somehwere else. I always try to stay at a hotel in Soi13 since it is central to everywhere.

Just booked into one of the Penthouse rooms at the Queen Vic on Soi6 (Yodsak) from January 16th to the 2nd Feb. I got the last Penthouse room available. They have 20 rooms but only 3 Penthouse rooms. 700bht for Penthouse and 550bht for normal rooms.

This is my 4th year and have never stayed at the same hotel twice. So i will post a report when i get back. They also have a back entrance so you can taste the delights of Soi 6 and still bring girls up the back way :)

Dog out.

I booked a suite for middle of January a couple of weeks ago at Sandy Springs. Gave them credit card info. I hope since it seems like it is so long off they keep the room for me when i arrive. Would really be pissed if I get there and they have it rented out. Does anyone know if most places are good at keeping the room for you or should I cover my bases and have another room reserved somewhere else

kikc69,

I have never had a problem with a 'confirmed reservation' at the Sandy Spring. Even last April when the hotel was full, they had our rooms ready and availble when we arrived.

When I was staying at the Sandy Spring last week, I tried to make reservations for this December. All the rooms were booked from December 24 on. They wouldn't even put me on a waiting list, saying all the reservations had a deposit. I also went next door to the Dynasty and the same thing, but did get put on a wait list. The Inn House across the Soi did have availble rooms for late December. I have reservations on Soi 8, but wanted to stay back on Soi 13 again. Will give it a try again, when we arrive in December.

Hotels not taking a deposit are liable to find that some guys don't turn up. Many on this board openly admitted just not cancelling reservations, having reservations at more than one place etc.

We often hear of guys who couldn't get into where they wanted and yet hear of guys on the street who got into the same hotel on the same dates. Most likely another no show.

The bad thing about this though is that it raises hotel prices as they lose out with empty rooms and need to recover the lost revenue. Not clever at all.

I booked the Residence Garden for mid-January. The boss man confirmed the reservation and rate but added that they are quite busy and would appreciate being informed early if there was any change in my reservation.

I would never, never make a reservation and just not show up. That is about as rude as one can be.

The RG may still have a few rooms available as may the Jomtien Boathouse.
