I`m staying at the RG in January and I am taking my laptop, what I would like to know is if I can access the internet in my hotel room, I am quite new to this computer lark so can someone give me a step by step guide how to go about it, also how much would it be likely to cost me on my phone bill at the hotel?

Haven't yet taken my laptop to Thailand (only had it a few weeks) but yes, you can access the internet from the RG. You need to buy temporary membership of an ISP such as (I think) Loxinfo. Also, when asked if you need to dial a number for an outside line you should insert 9,, (two commas), From what I can recall from other threads the commas tell your modem to delay dialing the access number.

The cost of a local call is 5 baht but the RG will doubtless add a bit to this. Think it's documented in the stuff they have your room.
