Creative Scheduling

I would like to fly China Air from JFK-Tapei-BKK. Would like to return on Thai on the non-stop. Taking the China Air flight would allow me to arrive in the LOS about 5 hours earlier. It would also put me over the 100K mark for FF miles.

 

The return flight on Thai allows me top go to work that morning and maximizes every precious hour in the LOS.

 

Has anyone ever done this type of schedling? Any tips who I should contact to handle this? It'd be worth it to me to pay a little extra for this schedule than a roundtrip on either China Air or Thai.
