China Airlines Amsterdam Lounge

Recommended Posts

Does anybody know if there is a time limit on amount of time you can spend in the lounge at Amsterdam.

I have heard that in some lounges there is a two hour maximum applied.

I have a five and a half hour layover in Amsterdam. So need to kill the time somehow Chock Dee.

Still worth every second for the end result. :D B)

I have no idea how long you can use the lounge but Schiphol is one ot the best airports in the world.

Restaurants and bars everywhere,a depandance of the rijksmuseum ,a casino, and the best collection tax free articles in Europe(not very cheap ! )

Otherwise take a taxi to the centre of amsterdam and back, both ways no longer then 30 minutes,i can do it in 20. Price 35-40 euro,s

Visit the van gogh museum or take a canal tour of one hour and you will see five and a half hour flies by.

If you smoke then take care ,enjoying amsterdam ,s coffeeshops is great ,dope from all over the world and it might could you miss your plane.

I got the train in to Centraal Station return fare 6 euro in April. I had about 8 hours to kill so I went out to the Amsterdam Arena and took the tour there. Very easy city to get around by public transport. Anne Frank museum another attraction.

You couldn't have picked a better place to change planes. If I am ever in Amsterdam for say more than 3 hours, I hope on to a train.... you are in Amsterdam central in 20mins.... pop down to the red light district for a quickie, and if I have enough time.... usually go for a proper massage in the China town area, just adjacent the Red light area.

Amsterdam... proabably the best place in the world to change planes through, fuck London or Paris, they are both nightmares.

Train is well worth using.Cheap, high tech and looks like something out of Thunderbirds. (S.I.G.) :P

Ideal time to visit coffeeshop.

Go easy if your not used to Dutch weed, ask at the counter for some of the milder strains. The top strains will blow (or laugh :banana ) your head off.

If you dont smoke, ask for a few crystals and put them in your tea.

Set the alarm on your phone so you dont "forget" you have a plane to catch. Lol

Great way to start your holiday, and a nice way to make the 12 hour flight just "fly by".And dont forget while everyone else is at 32000 ft,you should be around 40000.

Sure beats Xanex.

Thanks for the ideas about going into Amsterdam, hadn't thought about that as an option until now.

I e-mailed China Airlines direct about the time limit in the lounge, still no clear answer they just said of course I have access to the lounge. If I decide to stay in airport then I will split my time between the airport terminal and the lounge.

Thanks anyway for all the replies.

Ten days until wheels up. :D :beer

If you have a bit more time in the Dam, check out the Tsukinski Cinema.. down Damtrak past Dam Square and hang a left at the floating flower market... 100 metres.

It is simply the most wonderful cinema in the world - art deco, completely restored to it's former glory. I flew to Amsterdam with my daughter just to see a film there.
