July 10. and 11. - bars closed?

I just discovered that 10. and 11. july is religious holidays (Asalha Puja Day and Buddhis Lend Day). I was on Koh Samui last year during these holidays and all the nightlife in Chaweng was closed. Is that to be expected in Pattaya as well?

 

Having only a few days in Thailand before going to explore Cambodia and Vietnam and having arranged to meet my long-time-no-see friend from Austrialia on excactly these days (without realizing their holiday status) and promised to show him some of the infamous nightlife of Pattaya, I now wonder whether we should change our plans and meet up i Pattaya later in july.

 

Would appreciate some info on the subject
