Cathay to new airport Sept 27

I dont know if this has been posted before, but I didn't see it in recent posts. If it is old news then my apologies.

From the Cathay Pacific web site:

 

"CX709 will be the first Cathay Pacific flight to arrive at the new airport, Suvarnabhumi International Airport, at 23:50 on 27 September.

 

Starting from 28 September and onwards, all Cathay Pacific flights to/from Thailand will arrive/depart from this new airport."

I leave in 3 days and return on the 25th so i will just miss leaving from the new airport, which is not a bad thing as problems will arise no doubt in the early days there.

Yesterday at CNN the thai prime minister say that new airport will open on 28 at 3 AM and at same time Dong muang will closed. But maybe Cathay will be on new airport few hours before, nothing it's impossible you are in Thailand.

This way they'll avoid the short flight in the night between the airports.

 

Bangkok Airways will move to the new airport already on the 21th. The Nation

I'm really looking forward to seeing the new airport...but feeling lucky that I won't have to until December or January after the bugs have (hopefully) been worked out.
