Recommended Posts

I know of two properties both furnished, both available for 6 months, both 2 bedrooms, both have aircon and are priced at 9k per month and 12k per month.

You want further details pm and I will pass on the owners email.

Thank you. PM to follow.

Emil,

I think the chances of BigD paying six months rent to live at some some place for a couple of weeks two or three times over 6 month period are nil, zero, zilch.

He's just having one of those Walter Mitty moments like he did with his plans to buy into Northshore.

I must say that BigD plan to retire to LOS this year appears to lack any advanced planning.

Let's see, I plan on having my wife in Pattaya during December to look at houses. If we find a house we like we'll rent it for a year. I've been to Pattaya/Jomtiem close to 30 times. On occasion, I've traveled all over the area. So you were saying about the lack of advance planning.

BigD,

Not wanting to keep banging the drum but what do you want from the house ?

There are cracking places around 25k per month and some shoebox 2 bed ton houses (read rows all glued together) for around 8k per month ? Do you want land or cheap price.

Whilst I would love an 8k house I know I could not live in one as the living room is smaller than your average garage and the average kitchen is not big enough for a bath tub. However, when you are not there, 8k per month is a lot better than 25k per month !

Do you want to be near a market or shops ? Some places do not have baht bus transport.

Need to have a few more details rather than just a house in Pattaya.

I'd like at least two bedroom with euro kitchen, AC, UBC, furnished. Looking to pay 15-20K. No need for a pool. I prefer a gated community. Baht bus access would be a plus. Town house or a single would be fine.

My point exactly, besides your wife you are the best person to determine what she would be happy with. If you had done proper planning you would have checked out the options on your previous visits and taken photos to show your wife to see what she would like. Then you could have come on line here and inquire if anyone else would be interested, told them the location, cost and showed them photos of what the place looked like. The way your doing it now, your asking someone if they would be interested without any details.

I did all that on previous trips. I went around and looked. Lot of good places to rent but I wasn't ready. Now I'm getting closer. When we look in December and if we find what we like, I'll rent it.

One guy I know is interested in taking the other 6 months.
