Just an idea for people that have a fear of getting involved in a scam when paying an advanced deposit for a room.

Here in N.Z. (and I presume elsewhere) one can "Purchase" a C/C from a bank or post office eg $105 for a $100 line of credit.Apparantly these pre-purchased cards have all the advantages of a normal card without the risks as the maximum one can lose is the amount you choose to keep as a balance.

We don't have to worry about that in the UK, as we are protcted by Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974.

You see, there are some good things about living in the UK.

We also have a similiar protection system in place,however this card limits your temporary loss and to me is still a very worthwhile method!

If that's the "BEST" thing U.K. can offer to entice us to return I'll give it a miss!

There is no temporary loss when it comes to a credit card, as the disputed amount is simply 'frozen'.

In other words, you simply don't have to pay that part of your credit card bill.
