I have just booked the honey inn, problem is they want full payment up front by Jan 1st, so moving isn`t an option if I don`t like the place

You are the customer,if they want payment up front it suggests others have checked out early.Don't pay it,they don't deserve your hard earned if they treat you in this way.

it wasn`t booked directly with the hotel it was with the sawadee booking system, done it before, always been ok in the past, today is the deadline to pay the deposit
