Checkout time policy at the Baybreeze hotel.

Recommended Posts

Hi.

I just left the Baybreeze hotel after a month’s stay.

I checked-out of my room on April 1st at 5:00am and was told I had to pay for that day even though their checkout time is 12:00 noon.

Maybe I’m confuse but it seems to me I should only be charged for that day (April 1st) starting on 12:01 pm. When I brought this up to the night staff, they stated “after midnight half-day started, we charge for the full day”.

Anyways, I couldn’t stay and argue since my ride to the airport was waiting.

Can someone who has stayed at this hotel explain how the no charge for room works in sync with their checkout time?

Thanks.

TC.

Think rate is based on midnight to midnight. I know usually if you check out before check out time that day is not charged but TIT. In their mind, you used part of day so were charged. TIT

Hotel charge by the night. So if you had paid to stay on the night of the 31st of March, they have, quite simply, cheated you.

As long as you left before checkout time, there should have been no charge.

A slightly different scenario could be that if you booked paying a monthly rate, that rate may have covered only 30 days; in accordance with the particular hotel's policy.

In that case, the 31st could have been an extra night. Under no circumstances would you pay for staying on the 1st of April. That would be quite a nasty April Fool's joke.

Maybe they ran out after you shouting "April Fool", but your Taxi had long gone....
