How to get the FLB rate for LK Group Hotels

Recommended Posts

P.S. bigten, that was some funny story...well, not funny for you, but still a head scratcher.

it was strange, i confess, but after the initial irritation, really no big deal at all. the staff has since been friendly and none of my joiners have been tossed. yet.

<grin

I followed the procedure and requested a quote for a period of a month in July. The reply was very prompt but they qouted me Studio 45,000 Superior 48,000 and 1 bedroom suite 60,750.

Even if the FLB rate is no longer in situ, surely it would be better to quote a price which might entice me to stay there. Perhaps the hotels bookings have not been affected by the recession?

I've sent another email stating that people have been given a walk in quote of 33,000.... fingers crossed but I may have to look elsewhere.

Anyone know of any other hotels with studios (must have cooking facilities)?

Can anyone tell me if the FLB rate still applies to the LK Group Hotels?

Alex, they sent me a rate sheet good until Oct 31, 2009. I moved out of there last October, so they may or may not be honoring it anymore. I think they should though, since the FLB connection books a lot of rooms for them that they might not have through other channels.

Also, in your penultimate post, you mentioned the quotes you received for the monthly stay, but didn't mention which hotel you were trying to book. They all have different rates.

Have they said to you that the FLB rate is no longer available?

I tried to book the Metropole and the Renaissance two weeks ago. Messaged them from here, and also emailed them each twice. Asked for the FLB rate, but did not get a single email returned from either hotel.

That's a common complaint. I've tried several times to work with them on receiving and replying to emails, but whenever they get a staff change on the reservation desk, it gets messed up again. When I first started tracking emails from the forum sent to them, it turned out they were all going into their junk mail which they didn't check.

All I can say is that we (FLB) should have a decent corporate agent rate (similar to Agoda and other booking agencies) without the requirement to pay up front and no cut for the middleman. But, if they can't get their act together to reply to emails, I'm out of that loop.

Agreed. I had the same issue in Jan when I tried to book with them. Took multiple emails just to get a quote, and then no follow-up when I tried to book. The rate they quoted me, however, was the lowest to be found. It was even lower than quoted on page one of the thread. Nothing you can do on your end. Hard to give them business if they don't respond to inquiries, no matter how cheap the room is.

Thanks Martin

I am trying to get quote for LK Metropole (Soi Diana I think) and no, they didn't say the FLB rate was no longer available.

The rates they have quoted, however, are just the normal prices.

Not your fault and decent enough of you to have even set up the discounted rates. I will just keep plugging away with emails, now that I know the discount is still in situ. Having lived there for a while you're aware of what a fun passtime that may turn out to be :D

I got a friend to get me walk in quotes so if all else fails I'll do it that way.

Just a quick update.

I eventually got a reply from 'Dream' in the reservation dept:

Studio 33,000 Superior 35,400 One bedroom suite 45,600 (all room only, but it's rare for me to make breakfast so I'll cope)

pay on arrival.

Thanks for setting up the discount MM. I may even spend a few baht in the FLB whilst listening to the fabulous band... I promise not to request "American Pie" if Ed promises not to give me that knee knocking 3 part shot!!!

Just don't request Hotel California, anything by the Carpenters or Credence....please.

But up to you.

Oh dear, now you've put the cat amongst the pigeons.

I watched the carpenters story last week and it reminded me how good the song "Goodbye to Love" was. Maybe I'll be too drunk to remember that one :beer

Cya in a few weeks :D

I sent them a request for a price via flb and they sent me back the rack rates. I guess that relationship is over MM.

I've had that a couple of times.

Try just emailing them direct and asking for the FLB rate. (Include your board name.)

Its worked for me before.
