For 2011 expect the middle east carriers to increase capacity (ie)

 

EK - a third daily flight departing around 0900am -A330-200

 

AY - extra daily flight-A330-200

 

QR - to introduce daily B777-300ER

This is all good news to me, more flights and we can hope a bit more competition, certainly more flexibility!

My only fear is that as these newer Middle Eastern airlines become established, they feel they have the room to push up prices...that seemed to happen with Emirates.

I keep hoping a carrier will introduce a non-stop Manchester-BKK..... Thai are too expensive, BA can go get lost, but EVA/ China Airlines or Quantas maybe?

Pity about the negative effects of increased APD (taxes).
