Normally $29.95, this robust security utility offers protection against viruses, spyware, and rootkits.

 

There are plenty of free security tools out there, but few include technical support, and many of them bug you with ads and nag screens.

Cloud Antivirus Pro promises protection from viruses, spyware, and rootkits. It can disable Autorun to help protect you from viruses that propagate via flash drives, and the Pro version includes "automatic USB vaccination" to keep you from getting or spreading that kind of malware. (Interestingly, I just had such an encounter with an infected flash drive.)

 

Also included with the Pro version: 24-7 multilingual tech support. For anyone who wouldn't have a clue what to do in the event of a virus infestation, that could prove mighty helpful.

I do use MSE and have now downloaded and installed Panda. I was concerned that there may be conflicts but it looks like MSE and Panda are working together with no problems. If Panda gives good protection I will likely renew when the free one year subscription expires. So far it just stays hidden and that's the way I like it to work. Time will tell. I did try MSE for a while but switched on account of it slowing everything down. Avast was much better in this respect, but since 'acquiring' a serial for NOD32 I've not looked back!

I used NOD32 before and if I can get it on sale again for $10,I'll reinstall it.I am happy woth both MSE and Panda workong together as Gary stated.I didn't see a slowdown with MSE.

Remember Black Friday is only 4 weeks away and there should be some great deals out there.

I am also using MSE in which I am also worried with the protection of my current antivirus that is free. I should try first this trial version of Panda and how it works with my MSE. If this AV doing a good job, I will definitely buy this AV after it has been expired.

I haven't tried it, but MSE2 is supposed to be faster than the original.

I had installed Avast along side of Microsoft Security Essentials. Everything was working fine. Both programs were updating correctly and the computer experienced no slow downs. Last week MSE had a program update and it wouldn't install. I ended up having to decide whether to keep Avast or MSE. I kept MSE and uninstalled Avast. MSE now works properly.
