"Dana White funds liver transplant for trainer's daughter"

The Ultimate Fighting Championship's president agreed to cover the remaining costs of a new liver for the baby daughter of a noted Muay Thai trainer.

A post on the popular Underground Forum started a chain of events that eventually led to UFC President Dana White paying for the liver transplant of Rattanachai "Kru Nai" Jadngooluem's daughter Tuptim, who was born earlier this year. Jadngooluem teaches in Phuket, Thailand at Tiger Muay Thai, where many professional MMA fighters have trained.

Doctors at the start of the month estimated Tuptim would die by the end of the year without a transplant because of an ailment that prevents bile from being carried out of the liver. Tiger recently started a fundraising campaign to raise $50,000 needed for the operation.

Ben Pittsley, a Massachusetts-based pro kickboxer and amateur mixed martial artist who recently trained at Tiger, used the Underground to call on White to help Tuptim. A UFC employee eventually responded with a promise that White would donate the rest of the money needed.

It isn't the first time this month that White has helped out athletes or their families with health problems. He hosted a Dec. 3 benefit in Las Vegas to raise money for professional BMX riders T.J. Lavin and Ty Phinney, who were injured doing stunts. Both men are from Las Vegas, UFC's hometown.
