I've flown EVA a bunch

I want to fly from USA to BKK

 

I did my searches on the internet and focused on Singapore Air as will as Cathey Pacific.

 

I mostly came up disappointed.

 

I decided to give Singapore Air a call.

 

What a shock.

 

 

Not only was I all in for an open return ticket ( one year) at 1700.USD but I was even told if I don't use the return portion, I was eligible for a partial refund. Any portion of a ticket price for a refund is a totally new thing for me. I've never heard of that before with any flight I've taken.

 

 

The fare allows for unlimited ( no charge) changes for a return date. I don't plan to use the portion return but I like the option.

 

 

I still like EVA but I felt the last time I flew with them the airline seemed a bit long in the tooth.

 

I wanted to try a new airline. I hope it works out. Sometimes a change is good.

 

I fly economy class.

I fly EVA almost every time.....I like the service and they always seem to have one of the best rates!

EVA takes off on time, arrives on time, doesn't lose my luggage, has decent flight attendants, and food...

I've used China Airlines for most of my trips out of LAX and SFO. They've generally had the best prices, esp. for biz class. Their 747's for the trans-Pacific leg are getting a bit long in the tooth but still good, but the TPE-BKK legs have generally been on newer Airbusses (340's, usually). I've flown EVA a couple of times when their prices were able to beat CI's, and found them quite acceptable, although I though CI's food was better.

Agreed on everything except the food, unfortunately somewhat less than edible.

EVA have a LON-BKK deal just started.

 

 

On their website they're starting from £565, book by March 31st.

 

 

But you can get them as cheap as £533 with Westeast, or £540ish with ebookers, travelsupermarket ect

I flew my first two trips on Eva and the stopover in Taipei was only two hours, and it was a 777 the last time, so wondering why you think it was longer than any of the others.
