  1. I regret now for saying anything about an apology, just for you to read it and that be the end of it. I wasn't asking for any more contact from you, only to share my side of the story. I certainly didn't need any rehashing of what has already been said. It is you evidently who cannot let this go, as this was my way of sharing to others here my side, nothing more. As to how anyone else takes it, that is up to them. If I was incorrect about my memory, maybe, but not to the extent you say. I said it was a mistake for me to share anything with anyone who doesn't understand, and being a Veteran who obviously has no clue to what I went thru and the repercussion of it. You said it yourself in an email to me. What bothers me most is you should have told me face to face, including our mutual friend, instead of letting it go this far. I can see now that you are incapable of that.
  2. My side of the story Since I knew CB was on this forum, I thought I would try to reconnect with him, after he sent me this email to me back in Pattaya at that time. I wanted to straighten out any bad feelings, and if he still felt that way, then I could put closure to it. I try to see the best in people and know that we sometimes say things in haste. That was all I was trying to do. At first he didn’t know who I was. I then clarified why with a PM to him and he did not reply. Now, I would rather have a reply, even to tell me to take a hike than nothing at all and CB didn’t. I admit, I did message him a couple of times so I could get an answer. It wasn’t until he unloaded on me this PTSD thing, that I contacted our mutual friend, to get some answers. All our mutual friend told me was CB was strong willed and a very opinionated individual. The problem was he couldn’t tell me about why CB said I was “whining”. It wasn’t until CB stated here his communication with our mutual friend, that I am still the same. The only time I mentioned to Steve about PTSD was that I told him I was experiencing some things that I didn’t know why and whether that was any cause for them. I realize now that was a mistake to trust him about something he has no understanding of. That was clearly my fault, and on this, my first trip, my emotions at that time were vulnerable and I wanted somebody to confide in. I was having problems with my girlfriend, whose niece, was his girlfriend at the time, and shared this with him. When I asked our mutual friend for answers, he unfriended me on FB. I want to apologize to CB, it wasn’t my intent to cause you to come to this point, and regret that you thought it necessary to post it on this forum.
  3. Yes I believe it was a 300ER, an it is a long haul!
  4. Are they still using those 747's? When I flew out of LAX in 2010, it was on a 777.
  5. If it's anything like the addicts change, it will be too slow. Thay have so much advertising and shit on there, it takes forever to navigate.
  6. For 17,000/month, what is the minimum stay?
  7. Unfortunately or not, I am not in Thailand right now, back in the US. Got me thinking about buying another laptop if I cannot solve my problem inexpensively.
  8. What do you use?
  9. Yes I can play music and movies no problem
  10. Thank you all for the advice here. As far as the lens cleaning, I use a disc to clean the lens. I did seem to have an issue with some of the Thai blanks while on my last trip. Am using Memorex blanks here in the US. I will try the last two suggestions here. Would using an external burner solve the problem?
  11. I have had a problem off and on burning CD's using Windows Media Player and other third party burners I have downloaded. Lately cannot burn with Windows and using a third party called "Ashampoo", it said that the process was successful but afterwards found out the disc was empty. I have an Asus laptop which I've had since 2004. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
  12. I stay in a condo in Jomtien on my trips and when I head down to Pattaya, I take the baht bus and they works out fine for me. Later in the evening however I will take a motorcyle taxi as they are much quicker to get back. Otherwise I have to wait on a bus that are lined up on 2nd road and wait till they are filled up, which is a pain in the ass. There was only one time during the afternoon one day the a driver took too many chances and was going too close in between cars. Other than that one time, I have been satisfied with their driving. They usually ask between 40 and 60 baht for the distance back to the condo and I give them 20 baht tip on average.
  13. Never got sick from a foodcart on the street, I usually relied on my girlfriend to buy it. I was out with a mate one afternoon in an outdoor bar and was leery about ordering from a cart nearby. He lives here and told me that it was safe as it was busy. The one time I got really sick was a packaged meal from the market there across from Wonderful 1 bar, it has pretty much all western food. I think it was beef stew.
  14. "offshore", Poh rao
