Hi folks,

just signed up in here and going tru' tons of posts - I'm going back to Thailand in June and will spending the second half of my holiday in Pattaya/Jomtien (the 1st part being BKK and Ubon Ratchathani).

I was there June 03 and place felt incredibly subdued compared to 2002; dunno if it was ‘cuz of Iraq war, low season or general tourism fatigue but it certainly didn't have the party feeling one gets when in Pattaya.

I wonder if this year situation hasn't got worse due to the new proposed licensing hours and would appreciate fellow Thailand (and Pattaya) aficionados take on the current situation, particularly around June time.

Hi Sarges,

I ended my first trip to Los on 16th Feb. My advice would be to get to Pattaya asap. Spend no more than a couple of days in BKK.

I had a good time in BKK but Pattaya was great and cheaper. Well I had learnt not to be a walking ATM for tg's by then!

I am back on 2nd June and this time I am going straight to Pattaya. If your visit coincides I will be pleased to buy you a cold one.

I came back to the US on 11 Feb and during the month I was in Pattaya it was party central. ;D

Jambo,

I plan to stay in BKK for 12 days as one of my tiraks is based there and also there so much to do and see in the Big Mango.

Going to Isaan alone though, this pisses my girl off  :P as she hails from there. I'm looking forward to it as I'm not quite sure what to expect.

I agree with you that Pattaya is the place to be for no stop action and party atmosphere; that's why I'll be there for 14 nights. I'd be happy to share a cold one with you and any other interesting fellow falangs. Have a look at the calendar for dates.

Bro BigDUSA, glad you had a great time in February but I expect things to be quieter in June as it is low season. Still, I look forward to reading your field report, elsewhere!  ;)

Cheers

Can't remember the exact dates, but I'm guessing you copped for the beginning of the crackdown prior to APEC. ;)

Things are rather better now. ;D
