staying long time in thailand

Hi I'm staying in Thailand for over a month. I usually go for 2 weeks and my US passport allows me to stay for 30 days. If I stay for 50 days, can I just exit Thailand, restamp my passport (lets say Cambodia) and stay another 20-30 days?

just get a visa prior to departure...avoid the hassle

Yah i was going to apply for the visa but I realized that I couldn't get it in less than a week. I called the LA thai embassy and they said it would take 2 weeks.

 

I want to stick around for new years and not leave on dec 27th (which would be 30days)
