Hi,

Been coming to LOS for many years, and lived here since 2005.

Went to a LOS D.L. center and showed them my British D.L. and asked Boss Man how long i can drive in LOS on it. He checked on his computer and said, 12 months sir, and if you leave LOS in that time, on your return you get a further 12 months. Some years ago i stopped doing border runs and got a P. to S. due to being married to a Thai national. At this time i went to a LOS drivtng lic. center. showed them my British D.L., which was all groups and asked for a Thai D.L. All i had to do was to get a medical and bring redsults back to D.L.C. Did this next day, don't bring photos as they take their own, hooked into the Comp. that prints out said lic. I got two, one for a M/C. the other for a car. No driving test, no boring videos to watch etc. First one lasts for 12 months and the next one lasts 5 years.

I have done a lot of travelling in LOS from Udon to BKK, Pattaya and N.K. and many uther places. Every time i have been stopped i have never been asked for my passport, even though i always carried it. just my D.L.

I was down in Kalasin in DEC, i had a bit to drink the night before so my mate said he will drive, he had a 12 month LOS lic. We were stopped and he was asked for his Lic. The police said it was 3 months out of date, was told to go on, and get it renewed ASAP. So police get my thumbs up for that.

Cheers Doug.
