Hi Guys,

Visiting Pattaya in April staying at the Dusit Resort,  heard it's a good hotel but the food and drink is expensive. Where is there nearby that good for food and cheap for drink, never been up that end of town before - the furthest North I have been is the Internet Cafe on Beach Road.

Many thanks

Hi Patk100

There are plenty of restaurants and bars in which you can eat right outside of the Dusit.

I am afraid I don't remember any particular names but they all offered a good range of food at prices far below those of the Dusit but that is hardly surprising given that it is a 5 star hotel!

:D I've been visiting Pattaya for > 15 years. There is great Thai food in hundreds of places. My Western food favorites are the Italian Place at the Dusit end of Beach Road, the German joint, I think called Zepplin, on beach road not too far from the good Internet Cafe, Sportsmans' Inn (there are two), the Russian restaurant at the FAR end of Walking Street, and the Pig and Whistle Pub on Soi 7, especially for breakfast with their homeade bread. I usually end up at a different joint each night, and frankly it is one of the things I like best about Pattaya. You simply NEVER run out of great places to eat, and new ones pop up each year. For a quick bite, I also like Jan Bar on Walking Street, right across from FLB.

Gregs kitchen does an ok breakfast, and they serve it all day long, so you don't have to get up before lunch time   :)    Its on second road opposite the[glow=red,2,300]"Fuck you bar"[/glow]  Try walking past that place around about 2pm!!!!  You probably won't make it across the road to Gregs.   ;D

  • 3 weeks later...

I've stayed at the Dusit Resort 3 times now and can confirm that it is a good, guest friendly, hotel. As with many top class hotels their food and drink prices are expensive.

From the main entrance to the Dusit (the Dolphin Roundabout), turn left and you will find a number of reasonably priced restaurants.

I can also recommend the Italian restaurant on the Beach Road.

Hope this is of help.

Alan

On the other side of the Dolphin Roundabout on the corner of 2nd Road and North Pattaya Road is KISS restaurant. IMHO the best VFM restaurant in Pattaya if cheap and cheerful is your priority. ;D
