Displayed prices are for multiple nights. Check the site for price per night. I see hostels starting at 200b/day and hotels from 500b/day on agoda.

To get an idea for hotel bids on priceline there is a site called biddingfortravel.com, I have been unable to access the site for a couple of days, any idea if it is server problems, or has the site been closed down?

TIA

Thanks for that John, I used this board to get an idea how much to bid to stay at the JW Marriott, Suk/Soi2, I have bookmarked it now and will use it again when I stay in BKK.

I got turned down for ShangriLa (or Banyan Tree) for 55 the other day.  Planning to bring my own girl from Pattaya since a paarde of talent would surely be frowned upon not to mention joiner fees.

Are all the 5* Sukumvit hotels from Priceline, places without joiner fees?

Btw my name on that board is Will Gettheshangrila.

It seems that the three 5 star hotels in the Sukhumvit area  that you are likely to get are the  Westin, Sheraton, Jw Marriot.  I believe, all are ok with guests.

Last  year I got the Jw for $54 plus $17 taxes in July and November.  Watching the biddingfortravel.com site it seems like it is now taking a priceline bid of $70-$75 plus taxes.  A little more than I'm willing to pay.  It was a good deal while it lasted.  I will try again in a couple of days.  John

JWM was accepting bids of 56usd+ for February, it was an even better deal for us Limeys now that the Pound is at a record high against the Dollar. [smiley=1luvu.gif]

Just got the ShangriLa for 55 plus taxes and fees.  Seems the trick is not to stay on Saturday.

Also suggest you bring your own girl from Pattaya cause there could be an unpleasant surprise such as no joiners allowed at any price.

Not the type of converstaion that goes on at bidding for travel though.

The way I figure it is if your travelling with your girl you don't need to be near Nana and even though I'm a borderline Cheap Charlie, I'm willing to spring for great value.  So one of the best hotels in Asia is not much more than double the price of the Nana.

I'm not a 5 star kind of guy so I guess i gotta figure how to tone down my act.
