Is it just me or do the Thai's have a certain "style" when reporting an incident?

 

From The Phuket News: Bragger stabbed to death after Phuket karaoke row

 

"Lt Col Prawith Engchuan of Phuket City police told The Phuket News that when officers were called to the scene they found Surasit “Deaw” Sukhum lying dead in front of his home, which is right next to Kanokphat Karaoke.

They learned from witnesses that Mr Surasit had gone into the karaoke, where he had bragged loudly and bad-mouthed a group of five customers.

Naturally annoyed at this, the group taught him a lesson by stabbing him to death."

I'd imagine one would go bonkers if they lived next to a karaoke. It's the victims fault, obviously.

They're not trained journalists, probably just the news media's version of the parachute English teachers. That site also does not seem to have a proper sub editor. But get used to it, folks, it's the way of the future now that newspapers are dying in most parts of the world and professional training is all but extinct. Some people are natural reporters, but it takes a lot of years of experience to become a well-rounded journalist and sub.
