Qatar Airways Sales

Recommended Posts

I subscribe to, and am a FF with, Qatar, but for reasons I don't understand, I don't receive e-mail notifications of their regular 3/4/5/6 day sales. If anyone does receive notification of, or becomes aware of, a Qatar Airways Sale in the next couple of weeks, can you post the details here. Thanks a lot. :thumbup

I also am a FF with Qatar and seem to have no problem receiving their sale offers, only problem is most of them are not applicable to my preferred destinations.

If I receive any, I will certainly post the link to the sale.

I must admit it has been a while since I received any such emails from them too.

Checking for flights recently, Biz Class ex BKK, for the first time Emirates were coming up cheapest.

(Between Qatar, Etihad, BA and them).

Even though I am no fan of their Biz Class Cabin, particularly on the A380, I do like the limo service.

BA seem to be having a lot more sales these days. But when there own staff admit that the Business Class ' package ' they offer isn't a match on the Mid east + Oriental airlines, it says a lot. After this years trip i shall be avoiding them for another 10 years before relenting for a trial run.

Thanks, Sam. My price is still coming up at 112k Baht for short stopovers. I'm was hoping it will go down to circa 100k Baht - the movement in the exchange rate may mean the equivalent of GBP 2k is achievable pretty soon without a sale discount.

Speaking of Qatar air is DOHA airport still under construction????

Have they started using the new terminal yet???

still offloaded onto buses on arrivial ??

Yes Airport still under construction, supposedly opening early 2014, will believe it when I see it. Think they are using it for some cargo at present. So I'm afraid it's still the bus runs for boarding and disembarking at present.

I really dislike the slow buses there, but do like their 'Premium Lounge', nevertheless I think I will hold back until I hear the new buildings are open and running smoothly.

I was searching for a May flight yesterday, Biz Class, and Qatar prices were much higher than I was getting for both Emirates and Etihad.

Thanks, Sam. Ex BKK is still stuck on 112k Baht to EDI .... the optimum time for me to book my hotels is during the first two weeks in March, so I have a bit of time yet. Etihad and Emirates are showing up at around 100k to GLA around the same time I want to go so I hope Qatar come down. I saw on the offer that it's under 2 grand business class from Edinburgh ... that's pretty decent for the guys in that part of the world.

Although it does also say some passenger traffic by the middle of 2014.

Whatever that means.

Any idea whether there will be a separate Premium Terminal at the new airport?

Not as far as I know, I think one of the big initial delays were the business class lounges not being ready last year. I quite liked the Premium Terminal the few times I have been lucky enough to travel in that class, should be there in March again.

There will be a separate terminal apparently for the Emir, but that is not really surprising.

LOL You might need a smoke mask for the Doha - Edinburgh legs !

I'm pretty much booked up now with Emirates First for the rest of the year, but still have one more possible slot from Edinburgh, prior to moving away. I might give Qatar a go for that, if price remains competative.

Booked BKK-EDI-BKK Biz class at 93,940 Baht incl. 777-300ER BKK-DOH-BKK and 787 DOH-EDI-DOH. Connections 2.30 out and 1.30 on the way back. Well worth the wait IMHO ...

Should be a great trip in style, the 777ER is great in business and their 787 looks just as good if not better. Remember the trip report especially the 787 leg.

I have one trip on the 777ER in business from DOH to LHR in March, unfortunately another three economy long haul flights in economy before then.

Enjoy and regards.
