I was in serious need for teeth. No bottom back teeth and when I lost a bridge and the teeth in the front I had absolutely no way to chew anything and have been reduced to soups, eggs and very soft meals. After some searching on these forums, I decided to try Dentist @ Beach on the 4th floor of Central Festival Mall. I got the 'posts' drilled in - 2 on one side, 1 on the other in the back and need to return in August for the 'crowns' to be fitted. The work has been very good and the cost for those 3 is just about $5,000 and would have cost me $12,000 at home in Southern California. My dentist there is Dr. Cherry.

In my opinion it is important to post experiences about such things so that other mongers can at least have some first hand information on what Doctor/Dentist provide good service and value and which ones don't. I would recommend this dentist but that is just based on my experience so additional feedback will probably be appreciated by others who are looking to have dental work done.

After the posts were put in, do they give you anything that allows you to chew until your permanent fitting in Aug?

I'm not clear on implants or what is done between the time to posts are put in and the time the crowns are fitted.

Either nothing or a simple denture.

Btw, I would always be careful with recommending a dentist after one pain free treatment and a cheap quotation. You will only be able to tell if a major treatment involving multiple crowns and/or implants was a success after about 10 years or if an not involved dentist tells you that it was a good job.

Having had one molar implant done:

The original tooth is surgically removed (oral surgeon).

The post is put in and the crown has already been ordered by your dentist per a mold.

I was not allowed to chew in that area for 60 days (bone growth).

Then when the crown is done it is back to the dentist.

Pricey here in the sates because the dental insurance companies consider it cosmetic even though structurally it is better for underling bone density than no tooth or a bridge that needs to have the teeth ground down on either side and still leaves an area of weekend bone where the tooth was extracted.

It cost me a lot but it was the right choice.

I did add the caveat "I would recommend this dentist but that is just based on my experience so additional feedback will probably be appreciated by others who are looking to have dental work done." for exactly that reason. When a monger is looking for a service in a counry where they know few people, they can only go by the limited experiences that others are willing to share. That is why I asked for anyone else with experience with this dentist to comment.
