Motorbike touring around Pattaya

Recommended Posts

Whenever I come to Pattaya I rent a PCX 150 and ride all around town and some outer areas. More often than not I just ride around and see what I can see without any particular plan or destination. However this year I'd like to ride a bit further afield, so I'm looking for suggestions.

I'm firstly looking for places worth a visit that are a realistic travelling distance from Patts on the PCX and secondly, places that are a bit further afield that would require a larger bike to get to.

And finally, does anyone know any good biking routes where the ride is more important than the destination?

Many thanks, guys :thumbup

Do you plan to rent the bike?

I heard there were restrictions on how far a rental is permitted to go from Pattaya.

I think the coastal areas East of Rayong and Chanthaburi would be good.

You should make a trip to Ban Chang of course. There are some scenic routes to get there and the destination is not bad either.

I believe i do have some restrictions on distance for the PCX that I rent, but I'll ask my renter how far I can go. If it's a longer ride and I need a larger bike I'll have to check with the next company i rent from.

Ban Chang is an option, Martin, but I'd rather go in the minibus as I can have a drink as well as enjoying the other benefits it offers!

Thanks for giving it some thought guys.

When I was in Patts over Christmas/New Year I went to Tropical Berts and they had a sign on the door advertising an organised bike ride out - unfortunately for me it took place 3 hours before I'd seen the sign!!

Does anyone know of any guys who organise ride outs? And again, anyone know of any good places to visit on a bike or good biking routes?

thanks guys
