Emirates - Glasgow to Dubai

Recommended Posts

Just been reading that Emirates forecast 150,000 passengers a year on the route, with about 50%+ using DXB as a change point for onward journeys.

They are also keeping an open mind about two flights a day from GLA and also the possibility of adding another flight each day out of MAN.

For we Scots the timings are excellent, (see Cheshire Tom's posting) as the KLM/China Airlines connection via AMS means getting to Glasgow Airport in time for the first sparrow fart.  (even LHR or MAN connections can hit the same problem).

So, here's to a good night's sleep and a decent breakfast before setting out.

Dougie,

The trouble with Emirates is that if they become too successful on the route they will replace the Airbus 330 with a high-density seat-fit 777 (to all intents and purposes a charter configuration) as they have done with the lunchtime flight from Manchester.  That said, the door-to-door timings for the guys north of the border are excellent.

I think the thing that swung it for Emirates was the thought of all those Jocks who won't be holidaying in Portugal next June!! ;)

Thats great news cheers Tom!!!I always fly emirates and travel down to manchester,so with the cheaper parking and less travelling to glasgow il still save money even if the flights are slightly more expensive from there.
