NWA's cash and miles

Recommended Posts

I normally fly EVA, however I have close to 60,000 miles on Northwest. They have a cash and miles promotion but it ends December 18th and I want to go to LOS after the Superbowl which is the 1st of February.  Does anyone know if the Cash and Miles are done more then once a year?  Is this promotion a one time deal?  I saw 20,000 miles and $325.00 (13,000 baht) for a ticket to LOS out of LAX(I could take a Southwest to LAX for cheap).

I called NWA and they could not answer my question, all that time on hold and I got nowhere.   :)

thanks

NWA is the only carrier I can take that can get me to LOS, so I've been on more than a few flights with this airline.  (They must get all their flight attendants from Milwaukee cause they're all chunky just like the women here, and generally mean spirited too. ha)

Don't know how specifically the miles for cash thing works, but do know the restrictions will be MANY.  I cashed in 60k for the January trip next, and had to ask them for seat availability and take my vacation days at their behest to get a seat.  Also, forget an upgrade on the segment to Narita-I told them every time I went to LOS that they could name the number of miles they wanted for an upgrade to Japan, and they refused every time.  (I think they like to see me squirm in misery for 12 hours trying to get my fat arse comfortable in that coach seat, the sadists!)  Good luck Kevin. Thanks guys,

I'm going to wait until the next Cash and Miles promotion, hope there is one for the spring and summer of 2004.  The woman on the telephone said they always have the promotion.  My next trip early next year I am planning on taking EVA and next summer I'm going to try the cash and miles on NWA, If it is available.

$325.00 (13,000 baht) with 20,000 miles that is a hell of a deal, even if it is NWA and I have to deal with 500 pound (227 kilo) flight attendents with hairy back and legs ;D ;D  Pop a few pills and I'll sleep all the way anyway. ;)

Kind of like a sore dick, you can't beat it.

As I recall, they've had two cash and miles promos this year.  I've got some miles, so maybe next time I'll take them up on it.

Anyone ever taken them up on the deals they offer when the planes are overbooked?  Last year I was scheduled on a Saturday flight from Minneapolis to Tokyo when they started asking for volunteers to be bumped.  The deal was good for overnight lodging, dinner, the same flight out the next day, and a $750 coupon good towards future flights.  I should have taken them up on it.

That's gotta be a hard decision.  Logically you take it, but when you've been waiting months to get back, can you give up a day in LOS?
