May departure deals from uk?

Recommended Posts

Hi Bodfish

I've paid £486 on Emirates from Manchester via Dubai.

Arriving Friday 15 May, departing 3 June. I may change this latter date to give me another week (see my post about changing departure dates)

If you are in town during this period, let me know and perhaps we could meet up.

ive been pricing up may flights myself.

eva and emirates seem to be going around the £450-500

ba/qantas around £530

and thai around the £600 mark.

i have seen gulf and qatar advertised for a lot less, but i would not even think about flying on either, even if there was availability.

bodfish,

If you are travelling from Birmingham then Emirates is the obvious choice - circa £480 from all of the major online agents.  There are options of going via the European hubs (Frankfurt, Paris etc) but the additional taxes generally negate any savings that you might make.  If you are happy to go from LHR then all the normal cheapies (Aeroflot, Finnair, Royal Jordanian, Qatar etc) come into play but it depends on your priorities (direct, seating, service etc).  Would you travel with Aeroflot via Moscow to save £40-£50 over the BA fare?

Bodfish,

Some of the best deals I have found, both in the past and also for this year have been with Airline Network

www.netflights.com

They are also a hell of a lot more reliable than those bastards at lastminute.com   Whatever you do DO NOT BOOK WITH lastminute.com OR ANY OF THEIR ASSOCIATED COMPANIES

I won't post my saga with them here, suffice to say Trading Standards are now following it up.

Try Thomas Cook, online or at the shops.

They have a special deal with BA/Qantas for £447.40.

Book before the end of March 2003, includes 5 nights at the Bel Aire Princess, Bangkok, based on 2 travelling, so single supplement will apply.

This price is the same from Glasgow as from Heathrow, so I have got my Shuttle flights for free. I declined the nights in Bangkok, and changed one Shuttle flight, and the final damage was £452.40.

For me in Scotland, the next best AVAILABLE fare was with KLM via Amsterdam at £586.

TFC - where did you get that deal with Thomas Cook which included the accommodation in Bangkok ? It was never mentioned when I booked my tickets with them last week  >;) .

Hi Derek,

Whilst the young lady adviser was in the telephone queue, we had a look at the booking conditions, and it was on the last page of those, came as as bit of a surprise to us both !

I declined it because of the potential single supplement, and also because I am planning on going straight to Pattaya, but it was certainly there.

Regards,

Martin.
