Anyone thinking of flying Emirates from UK should also note that on the legs DXB-BKK-DXB they use a Boeing 777 in a 3-4-3 configuration in economy as opposed to a 2-5-2 or 3-3-3 configuration favoured by other airlines.  Makes for real comfortable flying especially when the 20 stone German in front tries to recline his seat 180 degrees into your lap.  The only airline I've come across where your hands can either reach your mouth or reach your food, but not both. :-/
