Garuda Indonesia - LGW to BKK

I wonder if anyone can tell me what Garuda is like as an airline. Is it a good flight, good entertainment, good food, good seats?

i often fly with garuda its good airline even better for me

as i am a smoker and i can smoke on garuda flights

infact i am flying with them this saturday

Garuda only just managed to escape receivership during the earlier part of this year.  Whether it manages to see out the expected downturn in traffic due to the Bali bomb is anybody's guess.

As expected, Garuda is up shit creek.  :-[ The latest is:

 

The Wednesday flight from Denpasar to London (via Bangkok) will cease operation on 15Nov02, except for four flights departing Denpasar on 11/18/25Dec02 & 01Jan03 The Monday and Saturday flights from Denpasar to London (via Bangkok) will cease operation on 05Jan03

Luckily I am coming over on 11th Nov on a single ticket, so hopefully I shouldn't be affected by these changes.

ps. Does anyone have any comments about the flight itself...is it a good airline to fly with. I am a non-smoker and I have been told that the smoking section is at the back of the plane and is sectioned off so as not to bother the non-smokers on the plane

I have used Garuda twice from LGW - BKK and had  brilliant flights! The good thing is they fly direct to BKK with no stops! the foods good, drink all you want and most importantly the stewardess's are sexy as f***!

Went to bkk on Garuda and they dont have any Smoking seats and was back with them so no-smoking for 13hr flight from bkk to London  ::) :'(

I was flying out of Bangkok on the 9 dec with KLM (good flight) and noiced the 0420 flight with Garuda was delayed and the expected departure time was 2300.I boarded at 2300 and the garuda passangers were still in the departure lounge,god only knows what time it finally left.

I  considered flying Garuda on that flight I think I had a lucky escape.

This could well be a 1 off and I would not like to be unfair to a airline who are currently having a hard time.
