Tony,

You will hate it or love it!

You decide what is good or bad:

Room: CD player in room, bath tub you need to see (can't explain, someone will sooner or later loose their balls getting in, small rooms, great sea view in the sea view rooms. Great car park view in the "mountain view rooms"

Hotel: Large pool, the most special pool in town I think, ok'ish for swimming but a bit to many people playing in the pool for "swimming swimming", very kid-friendly pool, many kids around the pool/many noicy kids around the pool sometime, music by the pool/loud music by the pool/sometimes even a concert by the pool. Expensive drinks and food. Breakfast always included in the deal I think.

Hard Rock Cafe: Some good bands every now and then but often better up at Moonriver. I think they get more japaneese tourists than Thai celebrities (They go to Hoph). It's an OK HRC, not more. Very un-HRC when it comes to bar, restaurant, live scene.

I can't make up my mind if I will stay there again. Lot's of people love the place and I can understand why. I spend a lot of time by a hotel pool and the place wasn't me... I mean... In 30 minutes we had both Sex Pistols and to car alarm music, and I'm closer to Sex Pistols when it come to that choice.

My advice, don't book 30 days there, try it first.

It's supposed to be girl friendly if you book a double.

Hope this helps.

I've only seen the junior suites on their version of the "executive" floor. About Bt6k per day but come with perks suck as free laundry and free drinks etc. For me, too many kids around the place.

As for the Hard Rock Cafe, I've been in twice and found it crap. Couldn't see why it was popular but it was busy both times. Had a drink or two and left.

  • 2 weeks later...

I had a visit ther opening weekend Nov '01. Had no problem with bringing in a girl and the HRC was a great place to find a last minute freelance. Be careful and there are many TG's that are not in the P4P trade and I would be careful about offening the GF of a KickBoxer etc. I just waited about 2 nanoseconds and there were a number of mosquitos flying around. I arrive at the bar 0030 hrs and was back to the room with a nice one by 0130. One might think that opening weekend was special but actually the mini bar was empty for 2 nights and I have gotton thru round one before the roomservice delivered the drinkies!

BTW, I do enjoy Thia food but some good Farang food is always a good thing and HRC''s in Pattaya and Bangkok is a good place for that as much of their menu is standart, world wide!

It seemed to me like an OK place, but if the cafe is any indication, it'll cost you more than it should. Stopped in for lunch one day and had a Carlsberg and a club sandwich with fries. More food than I could possibly eat. A beer or two later and my bill was approaching 1000 baht. I was in the bar section eating at the bar, but the rest of the retaurant was filled up with Japanese tourists, or so it seemed.

The pool looks nice.

The TV up is a good thing and you can pronos also...

The tub/shower is good stuff. Granted one must step over the about .6. ht but it is over 1m sq and perfect for some action...... I love to have a my little Thai hooker scrub me prior to the service! Good stuff!
