Gulf or Kuwait airlines.

Recommended Posts

I`ve left booking a flight for the christmas period a little late this year usually fly Qantas or BA but the prices they are asking are a bit high now, I only wish I had grabbed a return seat with one of these in early may for £650.

Anyway I am now in the position of having to decide to fly Gulf or Kuwait airlines, not much in the price so that does not come into it and both have similar landing times, one of the reasons I have decided between these 2 is because of the mid morning landing oppossed to the late afternoon/evening landings most other airlines have into Bangkok.

I have never flown with either, so could some of you more experienced flyers give any advice on which one I should choose, which is the better airport for the stop etc, cheers Chris.

ps I will be flying from London.

Cheers Tom, after I posted I did a search for flight reviews ,comments, ratings etc, within 1 hour I realised what a stupid question this was, I would still like to hear any views on Bahrain airport though.

Bahrain airport is reasonable but several hours would be difficult to kill there. Most seats are occupied by horizontal people from the sub continent. There is restaurant, bar and duty free, but it is a small busy place, Bahrain being a small island but the airport is a well used by people leaving Saudi Arabia.

Personlly I find Gulf rather cramped in economy, although the service is fair.

Kuwait Airport would come in second in the 2 horse race.

I just looked at the www.ba.com site and found the following:

Flying out

20-Dec 445

23-Dec 405

24-Dec 328

25-Dec 328

30-Dec 286

31-Dec 286

Flying back

11-Jan 327

20-Jan 285

Thus, you could fly out on 30/12/04 and back on 11/01/05 for a total of GBP 613 plus taxes of about GBP 40.40

You can pick and match with the BA site as they offer you the choice to view each price for 14 days either side of the day you enter for both legs. You can also check in online, avoid all the queues at check in and saunter off to the bar.

you might want to take a look at KLM. I saw deals for about 750 Euros over the Xmas period, although if I had a choice, BA would win hands down.

Also, I noticed Cathay Pacific coming up on one site, but it involves a few extra hours via Honkers.

jnr, thanks but i have already booked with Gulf now.

KLM would normally be my next choice after BA and QANTAS since the times are so good, and there is only a couple of hours stop over in Amsterdam which is a superb airport.
