Hotel suggestions for around 1500-2000 bhat

Recommended Posts

Will be going to Pataya for first time in a month. Would prefer ocean view or nice surroundings, close to town or no hassle to get there, and no hassle for guests.

Would like to be in the 1500-2000 bhat range.

Hi - i take beside the ocean view even though at some rooms in some of teh places you actually can see the sea.

1) The Residence Garden at a rate of 1350 Baht i think if you book it over this website

2) Sunshine Vista Serviced Appartments for the price of 1320 Baht for a Superior to 3600 for a 2 Bedroom Suite - in Some rooms you can see the ocean too

3) The Pinewood Residences from 1600 Baht for a superior to 2200 for a 1 Bedroom Appartment.

All of the above are more of the serviced appartment style but offer all the features of a good hotel.

BUT: ther are Hotels in Pattaya that are way below your pricerange and still nice. As you could see in some threats - I would avoid places like the Siam Bayview or Siam Bayshore for the guest reason as well as the Montien - see the members section for more.

A good choice is the Sunshine Hotel on Soi 8 - right in the action, the rooms in the new wing are decent for a rack rate of 1027 Baht that still can be negotiated for longer stays.

Also good seems to be the Sandy Springs for around 1000 to 1200 i think.

Other then that, take the time to browse through the Reviews Section of this board where you can select your pricerange as well.

cheers

I told myself I wasn't going to recommend this hotel because it has become to popular. Also, somebody had a bad experience and gave it a bad review which I hoped would make it easier to book. But I remember how glad I was to stay at this certain hotel the first time I stayed in Pattaya.

I always stay at the Mark-Land on Soi 1. This is my opinion only. My reasons:

1) Every room has a balcony with a view of the ocean.

2) The rooms the last 7 years run me about 1,100 Baht through Ultima Travel, I stay from the end of November to the latter part of December.

3) The hotel has a beautiful glassed-in restaurant on the 27th floor. Breakfast is included and it has a beautiful view of Pattaya from north to south. Also, it is a nice place to take a companion for a drink and watch a sunset. The food at night is very good and amazingly not crowded. They sometimes have live music.

4) They have a glass elevator from the lobby to the floors, all the way up to 27th. Many Thai ladies have never ridden in a glass elevator and it is enjoyable to watch their faces as the elevator goes to the top.

5) The hotel is extremely guest friendly.

6) The standard rooms are big.

7) The air-conditioning works well and will stay on when you go out. It is not the type of hotel that you have to have the key inserted for the air to work, i.e. Penthouse.

8) Any problems and the staff is very attentive to take care of it.

9) Not noisy so you can sleep.

10) Near Big C.

11) A number of bars have opened at Soi 1 and 2nd Road, so no problem with having a good time at the north end of Pattaya.

12) Near Sabiland and Susie's if you like massages.

13) At the end of the driveway of the hotel is a Family Mart so you can stock up on drinks and munchies very easily.

14) Green Tree outdoor restaurant is next door.

15) No problem getting a Baht Bus.

16) Nice clean bathroom. At least this has been my experience. Good water pressure, hot water, etc. I usually stay on the 10th floor.

17) Currency exchange booth very close to hotel.

18) They have several elevators besides the glass one.

19) Nice pool. The deck looks out over Pattaya Bay and sometimes seems to blend into one. The pool is well maintained and hardly anyone uses it. It is on the 5th floor. The view is very nice.

20) They have an exercise room, if that is your thing.

21) I believe they have a sauna also.

22) They have a whole spa treatment and program it you want to be pampered and scrubbed.

The only drawback I ever have is when a group of Korean/Chinese/Japanese are checking in or out. Then the elevators get full. It is a hassel for about 10 minutes and then the problem goes away. You don't see these loads of tours because they all get on big buses and go other places so the hotel is quite.

These are some of the reasons I stay at the Mark-Land and will continue to stay there.

I hope the rest of you don't believe me and think the price is to high. The hotel is already getting to hard to make reservations and I don't need the competition.

I know this board is to help and since this is your first time I am writing this to give you another option.

Please don't tell anyone else.
