Well about Thai airwyas I will tell you when I come back I am flying for the first time direct from LHR in 65 days and counting down :-) with Thai on the recomendation of friends who have used them before. Sure enough it was a real decision direct or stopping over but I thought for a few minutes and said to myself NO I want to get there in one plane!! Anyway I am really looking forward to it ! its been so long since I have been there Nov last year Ha !! Oh by the way when I was ther last year my friend and I were walking up the beach front from ws at about 5am as you do :-) when these two ladies came from nowwhere! The usual lovely sexy man etc putting their arms around us thinking here are to drunk idiots! Alas they did not know we were Irish and drunk or sober every pound/baht is a prisoner. Well we were not drunk just merry anywayI had 2k in one back pocket 2k in a front pocket and 2k in a place normally revealed only to slash or take BJ's lol. Next thing I knew was the money was being taken out of my back pocket and I shouted to my friend to watch his. I grabbed the girl by the arm opened her hand and removed my 2k! IAt that she ran with her mate to a scooter as I shouted after her POLICE and would you believe it the number plate which I was looking for had been removed. However I think she got the message !! don't f**k with the Irish either way! On a serious note be careful out there I have spoken to several locals I have got to know and this is not uncommon Pattaya is getting a bit like this. I don't like to scare monger because we all enjoy the place but its real it happened to me. Sorry I diversed but thats life!

Its a choice you only can make, having flown with Etihad in last month I can tell you the service is excellent I don't know about your stop over times but I am from Northern Ireland so have to cross that most expensive piece of waterway in the world! I also have a travel mate in Manchester and our stop over times in Abu were around 1.5 hrs each way at the most! I am also a non smoker with a vengance and I did not find anything unusual about the amount of smoke mind you I was shopping! However have a good trip and I would thoroughly recommend Etihad!

Hi Glad to recommend a good tailor! Go into Flipper Lodge on soi 8 and there you will find Jas the tailor has a shop within the hotel complex. I have bought several suits off him all have been first class. Although on saying that you get what you pay for there are cheap suits and they are well rubbish they are ok for a time or two. I have always gone for the wool blend about twice the price of these others but worth it. Especially if you are prepared to deal with Jas.

Hi Thanks for taking the time to respond. Yes I am trying to upload music, I use itunes and limewire to do so. The problem is I cannot find my MP4 on my computer to download to as I do with my daughters zen.!

I bought them about halfway between Mike mall and walking street and they cost me for 2, 6000 bht. If I am really stuck I am planning going out in April so I could return them however I would not expect much change out of the sho proprietors! But thats life should have bought one from the USA! a real one lol. Thanks anyway

Well just back now appx 3 weeks after a brilliant three weeks in Thailand. In Pattaya I bought two Digital MP4 players being sold as Ipods complete with logo! (ha) Anyway they looked the part and are of good quality I got all the bits with them. A demonstration by the shop assistant showed that they worked and sounded fine. When I got home I discovered that in the setting its all chinese or Thai the manual is in broken english and well does not make sense to me. I was told and read that windows xp would pick up the mp4 and have drivers but no I cannot achieve this. I got a cd along with it containing drivers but it does not appear to do the job it seems to be for win98. Anybody bought one of these before or have any ideas as to where i can download drivers? I think I saw somewhere it is manufactured by sigmatel?

Nice to hear the comments on Thai airlines as I was looking at booking Thai from Heathrow to BKK in april next year on recomendation of a friend with whom I will be traveling. I have just come back from Thialand a week ago having flown with Etihad from Manchester stoppoing off in Abu Dabi for 1.5 hrs then onto the heavenly city of BKK!! Etihad an excellent airline plenty of room in the economy seating excellent service from the staff food great and individual tv screens. If that aint enough all flights were on time So Etihad have my vote. The only reason I am looking at Thai is due to the recomendation of my friend and that its a direct flight also he tells me that if you fly with Thai you can get internal flights for £40 return! So any comments or further information will be greatly recieved.
