  1. Not sure how long the offer is good for. The Sunshine had a big banner in front of the hotel that said something like - stay 3 nights get 1 free, stay 6 nights get 2 nights free, stay 10 and get 3 nights free. I stayed at another hotel before going to the Sunshine, so did a walk up and was happy with it. You should be able to negotiate something for a longer period of time. The hotels section of FLB site has a little different pricing for the Sunshine, seems to include breakfast for stays at the new wing. Sorry I can't remember any more information. Have a good trip.
  2. Thanks BigDUSA and everyone for recommending Alex. He turned out to be every bit as good as you said. Alex is big on customer satisfaction (yes, I know, sounds unbelievable for Thailand), what ever you want, he will do his best to provide it. He does run a few businesses, the escort service being one of them. It seems that the escort service is geared to business travelers mostly and more expensive then what we are used to. He showed me pictures of his girls, a few real nice ones. Thanks again for sharing, I also will be using Alex for taxi in the future.
  3. Just got back a few days ago from Pattaya and spent 2 weeks at the Sunshine. They had a deal where if you spent 10 days there, they gave you 3 days free. Worked out to about 800 baht a night for a seaview room in the new wing, 12th floor (a little expensive, but OK). I agree, the showers aren't the best there, especially the water pressure they provide.
  4. Stayed at Eastiny Place a few times and they did charge the 300 baht for a 2nd lady.... Suppose I should have tried to negotiate this before checking in. Most of the front desk people treated me fine, but there was one lady that I just didn't hit it off with. She always did the absolute minimum (if that) any time we interacted, but always with that fake kind of smile. Pat, agree with you that corner rooms A701 or B701 are good choices, decent value for the money. Having said that, I no longer use the Eastiny Place, unless I have to. One of the reasons was that I noticed that someone a
  5. Sure does look like a carpet in Harvey's pictures of the room or it could be I'm not seeing it clearly? Some hotels in Pattaya seem to have a tough time keeping carpets in good shape, could be the weather, wear and tear or the way they clean them - the maid with the good old broom - no vacumn cleaners - takes it's toll.
  6. I just returned from Pattaya and spent a few nights at the Markland. I booked directly with the hotel, not through an online travel agent. It seems that this is a hotel/condominium. The hotel has their own set of rooms to book and travel agents handle privately owned units. At least that is what I was lead to believe. If I stay there again, I will use an online travel agent, rather then the hotel directly. The room I stayed in was nice, had a great view of Pattaya (yes, get an odd numbered room), the staff was friendly, no joiner fee and no guest check in from what I experienced. The ho
  7. I haven't stayed there, but wondered what it was like. Last month I stopped by the Mark-land to check out the rooms. It looked real good, large room, balcony, new - not run down. I've only seen the hotel rooms advertised on travel sites and got their email address while there: markland@ptty2.loxinfo.co.th so you may want to contact them directly to ask about price, policys...
  8. Thanks Gazzo. Very nice add by the way. Have a great time on the 6th. I get in the 10th, so hope to hear all about the party.
  9. The last few days, every time I access the FLB, I get the following message: Security Warning - Do you want to install and run Macromedia Flash Player 6.0.... I get this every time I change a screen on FLB. Doesn't happen on any other board or application, just on FLB. Anyone else seeing this or can help out? Thanks
