  1. Ok Antbear, I'll have a go at this. First let me get it clear, you have a picture that you want to upload to the gallery and then use that for an avatar. Right so far?? Ok, in that case do as follows: Click on the 'Gallery' link near the top of the page. Enter your user name and password and then click on the 'Login' button. Click on the 'Upload' button. Click on the Browse button and go to the folder that contains your picture. Double click on it and the path to your picture is entered in the File#1 box. Then enter any details you want in the title and description boxes. (This is optional). You can upload 5 pictures at a time from this page. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the 'I agree with the rules' button. A pop up message box will appear and state that your pictures were successfully uploaded. (or not as the case may be!). Your pictures should (hopefully) have been uploaded and placed in a folder in the gallery under your user name (Antbear). If you like, you can go to that folder and check them out. You can get the path of this picture by right clicking on the picture and going to properties as below... To use that picture as an avatar, you have to go back to the page with the menu at the top, but this time click on 'profile'. Scroll down the page until you get to 'I have my own pic:' Click on the little checkbox and enter the path of the picture and then click the 'Change Profile' button at the bottom of the page. Voila!! That's all you have to do! If you have followed the instruction properly, then you should have your pictures uploaded and be able to use them as avatars too. Just be careful about the size! 2. Hi dbric, That's ok. I'll see you in Pattaya, most probably at the FLB's Birthday party. Carl
  3. I arrive late on Friday Dec 20 and will be checking into the Majestic Suites until Sunday Dec 22nd. Does anyone want to share a cab down to Pattaya around noon on Sunday Dec 22nd?
  4. Here's the latest....The strike appears to be off BAA Strikes called off as unions ballot on improved pay offer by BAA 25 November 2002 This information will be updated with any new information. Please note, you may need to refresh the page to ensure you see the latest information. BAA today welcomes the TGWU's decision to call off strike action in order to ballot its members on a significantly improved pay offer. The new offer provides an average increase of at least 7%* to basic pay over two years, up from 6.3%. This represents an average increase of £1,400, all to be paid in full in just four months time in April 2003. Commenting on the announcement today, BAA director Tony Ward said: "We are pleased that the TGWU has called off strike action in order to put this significantly improved offer to its members. We are confident that our staff, most of whom do not want to strike, will recognise that the company has responded to their concerns and see this as a fair offer in the circumstances." Discussions with Amicus, the other union proposing strike action, continue in order to resolve their outstanding issues.
  5. BigDUSA, I would have stayed at the Flipper again for my next trip [Dec 20 - Dec 28] but they are full for that period. I don't hold anything against the Flipper Lodge, they can't be held responsible for the dishonest action of one of their staff - that is IF it was one of the staff there. When I paid the hotel bill, I was standing right at the counter, so if it was then, they were damn fast. During my stay there, I also left my wallet in the safebox a few times and just took cash, so it could have happened then?? I have no proof that it occured there, it could have been Australia. Who knows?? I have made that assumption only because that was the ONLY place I used the card anywhere in Thailand. I have booked the Areca Lodge now but I don't think I'll be using my Mastercard anywhere, I'll just bring it along in case of emergencies. As I stated before, this kind of thing happens all over the world, so I hold nothing against Thailand or the Flipper. I have received my new card now and the Fraud dept said that it would take about 4 - 5 weeks to sort out the charges, but because all the transactions occured in England when I was obviously in Australia, then the charges can easily be identified and will be eventually erased. In the meantime they have increased my limit to a ridiculously high level. I would never use my CC to that extent, then again, do you reckon it could be a ploy by the banks to give you a brand new CC with lots of spending power just before Christmas?? Carl
  6. Same thing happened to me. My Mastercard has been used in England by someone who spent a few thousand pounds sterling. I live in Australia!! The coincidence with you is that I stayed at the Flipper Lodge too. I was there from Oct 5-11 2002. Great hotel and would have liked to stay again for my next trip in December but they were fully booked. My bank informed me that the card was swiped over in England, not used in an internet transaction or phone transaction! So someone made a copy. I was told by my bank that it is quite easy to do if they have a dodgy machine they swipe into first to record the info, then a legit swipe into the real machine. It's done so fast that you never notice. I've had to go to the bank and fill out a 'Dispute Form' for transactions that occured over in England and I am currently waiting for my new card. One thing is for sure, I will not be using CC's in Thailand anymore!
  7. Hi, I'll be staying at the Flipper Lodge from 5th October to 11th October. Hope to catch up with you guys then, probably meet up at FLB. Carl
  8. Everything just turned from blue to yellow. I must say that the yellow background is a lot easier on the eyes.
