At last! ;D A November post! This means that the time is finally getting nearer! ;D Sorry for the slight hijack of the thread Landy2a! I'll be arriving on the BA10 too but on November 6th. I'll spend a couple of days in Bangkok and make my way down to Pattaya on Saturday in time for Loy Kratong. I'll probably see you at the FLB on Sunday. Have a fun and safe trip!

To find out what they are called, right-click on the pics and select properties, this will show you what they are called. Another way would be to reame your pics before you upload them instead of leaving them with the name that the camera gives them. Hope this helps.

I read on the Nanapong site ages ago that a longterm resident used to pay the driver 5 baht and walk back along the way the bus had just come for a few metres. This way, if the driver was upset at only getting 5 baht, he wouldn't be able to follow you and pester you for more money. Seems a logical way to avoid an on-going argument as the driver is unlikely to get out of his bus but is likely to trail you if you start walking with the flow of traffic. Seems even easier to just pay the 10 baht and walk in any direction you want! Like the other posters above, I am not interested in raising the stupid 5/10 baht bus fee, but I just know someone is going to kick it off big time soon! ps I hope FishingTime is ok too.

Crackpot, The distance from LHR to BKK is about 9500 kms and SYD to BKK is about 7500kms. Chico, That sounds like a good price. The only thing I didn't like about flying Malaysia or Singapore was that you had to stop in each country which ate into my precious holiday time. Besides, I've been to both and much prefer Thailand! ;D Unfortunately, my leave was not approved for the dates requested... :-[ ... But I got my leave approved for the week after! ;D Management ([smiley=wanker.gif]) like to exert their authority, they claimed that I was critical for that period, as if one week was going to make a difference! ::) . Now you know why I prefer to be a consultant, keeps me away from all the bullshit and politics. I had to look around for flight availability and I got a great deal with an independant travel agent who managed to get me a World Traveller Plus class for $1293 plus taxes ($1385.96 total). For those who may not be aware, World Traveller Plus is the class above Economy but not quite Business class. What it gives you for a few more dollars is a more spacious economy cabin with wider seats, extra legroom and more seat recline. The Economy class is 31" and World Traveller Plus is 38". You can also bring on two pieces of hand luggage with a double weight allowance of economy. Great for those who don't like checking their luggage. 12 kgs as opposed to 6 kgs - does anyone ever check the weight of carry-on?? The only downside is everything else is the same as Economy, ie, no separate check-in, same food and entertainment as Economy AND no extra airmiles even though you're paying more albeit no way near the price of Business class. In summary, for an extra $170 AUD each way, I get 20% more room and double the carry-on allowance. Not bad, not bad at all. ;D ;D If anyone is interested in using the travel agent, IM me and I'll give you his phone number. Just thought some fellow Aussies might be interested to know that there are a few good deals on offer this week. Qantas $1149 (including taxes) - STA Travel Qantas $1197.16 (including taxes) - Flight Center Thai $1199 (including taxes) - STA Travel The best I found was a SYD - BKK return for AUD $1041.76 (including taxes) flying Qantas/BA. A couple of conditions are that payment must be made within 5 days of booking and changes before departure will cost $100. This particular offer expires 26th September but I guess the tickets will be well gone by then. Now I just hope I get my leave approved so I can book the tickets! ;D

I called your number on checking in at the Landmark on October 4th but got your voice mail. I called again the next day before going off to Pattaya and left a message. (I remember that your voice mail repeated the same message twice before I could leave my message). The Eden Club is fantastic! ;D ;D Flu or no flu, after a visit there, you will definitely be all sapped of all strength! Hi Shilo, I used to get down in the mornings between 10am and noon and the massage girls were already there. As for the evenings, when I got back from prowling, it was usually after midnight and to the best of my recollection the salon was closed by that time. Don't worry too much about the massage girls, Chrisgng22 is right, there are many better looking girls just outside waiting for you. The massage girls are great for when you're feeling lazy and want to stay in your room but still have a little fun. A bit like calling room service! You know you can get a better meal by going to a restaurant, but sometimes, you just feel like a snack! I think BigDUSA paid less, but when I was there in October, I paid 800 baht, (300 baht for the massage and 500 for the extra service). I don't know about barfining these girls, maybe someone else does. I personally would have reservations about forming a close relationship with these girls as they are way too close to the hotel for comfort. This could spell the end of your butterflying! :'( :'( The same applies to the girls working in the beer bars aound the hotel. For short-time, all these girls are great ;D and are mostly aware that the experience is going to be shortlived, keep them for any longer and you could be in serious trouble if you decide to butterfly right in front of their faces. :-/ :-[ :'( Hi Flash, You're excused, you're allowed to be inebriated and pre-occupied with the girl/s of your choice! ;D I too would be interested in the comparison between the Flipper Lodge and the Flipper House, so if anyone has stayed in both, post your comparisons!

Hi Flash, The Flipper Lodge has two lifts but the shop with the massage girls is close to both lifts. It's a little salon that does beauty treatment, manicures, etc, next to the small clothes shop. You must have been either too inebriated or too pre-occupied with your girlfriend/s, (or both ;D) to have missed the girls. I must say that the massage girls make for a great late morning or early afternoon snack!!

Hi PattayaMan, I was there in October and everytime I walked near them towards the elevator, they would all smile at me and give me small hand signals to come inside. I would just smile back and say I would next time. 'Next time' came a couple of days later and I just walked into the parlour and asked for one of them to give me a massage. They asked me which lady I wanted and I chose the little cute one. She asked for my room number and said she would be up in 10 minutes. Just enough time to have a quick shower. As soon as I finished my shower, there was a knock on the door. Hi Sprinter, Press Ctrl & Print Scrn to grab the whole screen or Alt & Print Scrn to grab the active window and paste into either Word, Photo Editor or IrfanView or pretty much anything you want to. You can then crop, resize, etc to suit. If you have money to burn, you can always buy software like GrabIt which does a similar thing. I prefer to spend my money in Thailand!
