As long as we get the most medals out of the European nations I'll be happy but I fear we won't even achieve that now. Still, I've always got going out on penalties in the quarter final of the world cup in two years time to look forward to.

As for whether or not anyone cares, well I don't suppose they do if they're not British and that's fine by me, I never suggested otherwise! Of course they can. Notice I didn't say anything about Fornicator's comment about the opening ceremony. Referring to the Great Britain team as England is easy enough to make if you live here and the other sports you are a fan of only have an English national side as opposed to a Great Britain one, believe me. I think that's a little harsh Martin. In that case, your interpretation of chauvinism in my posts on this subject is no more accurate than my interpretation of sarcasm in Idefix's post which is apparently unfounded. Is my real crime here actually starting a pro British thread? I hope not.

Exactly. A point in order to criticise. I made no response to that comment, he's entitled to his opinion. Thanks but I think you need a smart phone for that and as of yet I still haven't got one.

You know what you meant, in which case you're still a tool. If you genuinely didn't and were trying to indicate their mistake then I apologise but I doubt very much that's what you initially meant. I'll be watching you closely for any more anti British comments.

Well I slag my own country off all the time and always say how much I can't wait to leave but I must say that the opening ceremony has been absolutely spectacular and I defy anyone who is British who hasn't felt proud of their country tonight. Nothing but respect for Danny Boyle's vision and all those that made that possible tonight, COME ON TEAM GB, let's come top of the medal table and make this one to remember!
