Well he's got an indefinite stay in Bang Kwang to look forward to and quite rightly so the nasty bastard. I hope he gets gang raped everyday for the rest of his life.

Fellaini was the best player on the pitch by a country mile, he was outstanding last night. United were very below standard and deserved to lose the game. I'm not going to start worrying yet, I don't even start to take much notice of the table until Christmas. No cause for concern yet.

Have you not noticed how much football has changed since the seventies? United are still the most valuable football club in the world, a debt is only a problem when you can't make the repayments. Most Italian clubs are in debt yet still spend lots of money on players as United will continue to do. See my answer to the post above. No examples to substantiate your theory that Fergie has an influence on the referees in the Premiership? What a surprise.

It's perfectly fair. The scousers have made an art form of believing that everyone is against them in the last twenty five years, look at the way they have carried on with the Hillsborough disaster and countless other incidents over that time, the most recent being the blatant display of racism from Suarez to Evra last season. The way the club handled that was an absolute disgrace, no class at all. Liverpool are a club that live off of former success and have the belief that they have some sort of right to success. The sooner they realise that their club needs a complete overhaul from the bottom up is the only way they will ever become successful and until then, fuck them. You are talking absolute shit mate. Fergie has no more influence over referees than any of the other managers in the Premiership. Rather than just jumping on the bandwagon and quoting the shite that you read in the Sun why don't you give me some examples to substantiate what you have to say? This should be interesting...... As for suggesting United might struggle when Fergie goes I think you need to get with the times. Football is all about money now and has much more influence over what goes on than any other aspect. United are the biggest club in England and will remain that way, it's not going to make much difference when Fergie retires because they will always have a big enough following to finance the wages. United aren't Liverpool for fucks sake, do you really think when he goes they will end up embarrassing themselves by appointing someone like Brandan Rodgers? I think you'll find that the best in the business will be wanting the job.

Wonderful isn't it? United went twenty six years without winning the title once. They will go beyond that.

Welcome back to the board Torres.

Sorry MM, didn't have a clue that a thread on this subject had already been started.

Well no one appears to be interested at the moment but I'll post my predictions anyway....... I have very detailed explanations behind my predictions but I won't bore you with them I'll just tell you what they are. The top four from first to fourth will be: Manchester United Manchester City Chelsea Arsenal The the three teams to be relegated, in no particular order will be: West Bromich Albion Swansea Reading Wayne Rooney will be the top goalscorer in the league closely followed by Robin Van Persie and Mario Balotelli. The first manager to be sacked is a difficult one as there are so many candidates for this, Di Matteo could be in big trouble if the first part of the season doesn't go his way as could Brendan Rodgers. Mark Hughes and Michael Laudrup will also be under a lot of pressure but I am going to go for Steve Clark.

Well it comes round so quickly and the new season starts again this weekend so what are your predictions for this season? Who will finish first, second, third and fourth, and who will be the three to go down? Who will be the first manager to get the sack and who will finish as the top scorer? I am still finalising my predictions which I am going to post later tonight...........
-
Yeah I'll have a look later tonight.

Well that was the best Olympics I have ever seen and the fact that is was in my own country made it even more special. After a slow start team GB ended up going one better then their performance in Beijing four years ago which was truly remarkable and it has made the title of this thread very apt indeed. It's very rare I feel proud to be British these days but throughout the entire duration of the games I was bursting with pride on an almost daily basis and it has changed my attitude a little. We put on a great show and achieved our best performance at an Olympic games in the modern era, what more could I ask for? The effect that these games will have on youngsters when it comes to taking up sports will be huge so here's to Rio in 2016...... How ironic that a British Muslim provided me with probably my highlight of the games, the stadium erupted and I was literally dancing round my living room when Mo Farah crossed the line to take the gold in the 5,000 metres to complete a double that has never been done before by a British athlete. Congratulations to all that took part and well done to the United States of America and China for doing so well, coming first and second respectively in the medal table. We're going to catch you soon....... I know one thing, the annual BBC Sports Personality of the year will be an interesting one this year.

Well done. If the medal table was based on that you'd be right up there. Idefix! I can't hear you any more?
-
Not really. I already know that. Definitely. I take my hat off to them. Seeing as this is for Great Britain and not England then it's okay.
-
Fair enough but if the USA only had a population of a hundred million and they still won the most medals are you're telling me that wouldn't be any more impressive or remarkable?
-
What do you mean by that?
-
Population of China = 1.3 billion Population of the USA = 314 million Population of Great Britain = 62 million Enough said. Absolute rubbish. It doesn't matter if you had a thousand or a hundred athletes representing a country, athletes only get chosen if they are good enough and have a realistic chance of winning or getting to the final of the event. Ultimately, it's only the athletes that are the best that win the medals so there is absolutely no credence to what you have to say. You are just bitter now that we are way ahead of the French and certainly look like we are going to finish third now. I'm sure you would have been saying the same thing had France have done so well at the games. Well said that man.

Trust the footballers to spoil the party as usual. The jinx continues although that doesn't take the shine off the most successful day ever for British athletics and our most successful day at the Olympics for over a century apparently. This is just fantastic and considering our population in comparison to China and the USA it is truly remarkable.
