Actually at my work we do a lot of shipping of lithium batteries and equipment containing lithium batteries. There are tons of rules for shipping the batteries based on their watt hours and the number of cells contained in each battery when shipping by aircraft. There have been incidents during transport due to damage to the battery shells. I was looking on the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) and they have the reference to Australia mail for lithium batteries, but there was no date as of when they could be shipped. I suppose one problem is all countries have to allow them to t

When I was at the RG last Feb there is a little place on the Family Mart side of the road that had a good breakfast called Rita's and there was another place in the Mr. Mac hotel right beside the RG. Both places have been there for years, but I thought the food was better at Rita's.

Two years ago I decided to change the return portion for a Thai flight back to PI. I thought it would cost more, but in the end the cost was only 600 baht. A lot better that on a domestic flight at home. I did all this at the Thai office on Beach Road. I tried to look at my ticket and the Thai website, but could not find anything on what they charge would be until I was told at the Thai ticket office.

I was there last year when Cobra Gold was going on. The service personnel didn't cause me any problem at all. One bar tried to charge a higher bar fine, but we were able to work through that. I will be there again this year as my trip Pattaya will overlap the exercise once again. There website said the exercise will be from the 7-18 of February. Have a good trip!

Residence Garden Suite question
polar replied to nchristian's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I have never been charged a joiners fee at the RG. I have seen them check my girl’s ID, but this was rarely. I have stayed there on three trips now and will be there again in February. I like the staff and everything the hotel doesn’t have is located right across the street. Also, you are able to jump on a baht bus in front of the hotel and the route takes you right by the WS entrance and by four of the shopping malls. On my last trip in January I took a look for a comparable hotel in the WS area and was not able to find one that I was happy with. Good luck in your search! -
In the 1,400 price range I would recommend the Residence Garden. For 1,450 at the FLB rate you will have a suite, air conditioning, two pools, a restaurant, guest friendly, it is on the baht bus route, good staff, in-room safe, guest friendly, with a laundry and 7/11 across the street. I have stayed there for three trips now and will continue to on my next trip.
